PIONEER PROJECT FOR THE CREATION OF AN AUTISM CENTER FOR CHILDREN IN CHINA, A SWISS INITIATIVE
December 12, 2018, 7pm at Soral (Geneva): Li Jianhui, Mayor of the Chinese Municipality of Putian (Fujian Province) and Philippe Zwahlen, Founder and CEO of SIMC – Swiss International Medical Center SA are signing an historic agreement for the opening of a pilot autism center for children in China. A second agreement is signed at this same occasion between SIMC and the Chinese company Ruisi Medical Investment Ltd, investors supported by Sinopharm Capital, Chinese leader in the medical and pharmaceutical industry. They will ensure the financing of the project.
Supported by the presence of renowned guests such as Mister Carlo Lamprecht, former President of the Geneva State Council, Mister Vincent Subilia, Deputy Director at CCIG and organizations such as the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Geneva Chapter and the Swiss-Chinese Association – French Speaking Region, the ceremony was held in front of 50 guests.
The center aims to offer services specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and schooling for children on the autism spectrum in Putian. This pioneer project in China is of paramount importance for the country that counts about 2 million autistic children. The initiative is led in collaboration and with the expertise of the centenarian Lavigny Institution.
In total, the Chinese delegation, composed by governmental representatives of Putian and investors, spent 4 days in the French-Speaking part of Switzerland. SIMC organized the visit of notable medical centers.

Putian is a city of 2.8 million inhabitants (in 2015) and is located in the Fujian province (39 million inhabitants in 2017), in the south-east region of Mainland China. This area enjoys an SIMC Swiss International Medical Center excellent economic health thanks to a strong activity in the steel, manufacturing and automotive industries, but also in the new medicines.
