Landmark Productions and International Arts Festival John Kane sits on a hospital trolley. Very shortly, a giant lobster, two women called Mary, a very old man and a jazz MEDICINE percussionist arrive. Then everything starts. Written and Directed by Medicine is a dark and frequently absurdist work that shatters the boundary between cast and audience. It is a devastatingly funny and moving meditation on how, for decades, we have treated those we have called ‘mentally ill’. Featuring a sensational cast – Clare Barrett, Aoife Duffin and , with drummer, Seán Carpio – Enda Walsh once again shines a light on the darkest corners of our collective stories. Medicine is presented by Edinburgh International Festival in association with the . Developed with the support of the National Theatre, .
