Personal Biography – Technical and Professional Experience (not to exceed 125 words in length)

Prof. Yan-zhao XIE is currently a Full Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China and the Director of the National Center for International Research on Transient Electromagnetics and Applications (TEA). He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2005, Beijing, China. His research interests include transient analysis of multi-conductor transmission lines, electromagnetic transients in power systems, electromagnetic time reversal and high power electromagnetics. He was with EMC group in Politecnico di Torino between 2008 and 2010. He was General Chair of ASIAEM 2015 in Jeju, South Korea and is General Chair of ASIAEM 2019 to be held in Xi’an, China.

CHAPTER: Vice chair of Xi’an EMC chapter, IEEE Xi’an section. CONFERENCES: TPC member of APEMC 2015, 2017 TPC member of CEEM 2012, 2015 General Chair of ASIAEM 2015, 2019 AWARDS: Prof. Yanzhao XIE and his PhD students has won various awards in international conferences, such as Best Student Paper Award in ASIAEM 2017, Best Paper Award in IEEE MAPE 2017, Best Student Paper Award in AEMEREM 2018, Young Scientist Award in URSI 2019, and Outstanding Young Scientist Award in APEMC 2018.

Nominee Statement (not to exceed 150 words in length): EMC community is a great community which relates closely to many industries. EMC scientists and engineers normally has not only profound theoretical background but also good practices. In the future, the academia and industry should have even more joint work together to face the challenge of Industry 4.0. Prof. Yanzhao XIE EMC SOCIETY BOD DIRECTORS-AT-LARGE CANDIDATE NOMINATION FORM and his HPEMC group has several funds from industry to support his travel expenses. AS the Director of national center for international research on transient electromagnetics and applications (TEA), he has good experiences to organize international research cooperation and benefited a lot from the EMC community. It’s time for him to contribute back to EMC community. He is willing and ready to do this together with prestigious colleagues.
