Therefore, it is urgent to research and develop the long-term low-carbon development goals and strategies to address climate change and incorporate them into the overall strategy for national socio-economic development. To provide technical support for the low-term low GHG emission development strategy for the middle of this century which the Chinese government is going to submit in 2020 under the Paris Agreement; to study and demonstrate China's 2050 low-carbon development goals and pathways that are aligned with the long-term goals under the Paris Agreement.
