Enrollment Notice of 2021 Asian PhD School on Advanced Power Electronics

The Asian PhD School on Advanced Power Electronics is an annual summer school fostering a series of tutorials/lectures on the frontiers of science and technology in the power electronics field. 2021 Asian PhD School on Advanced Power Electronics is hosted by Tsinghua University, technically co-sponsored IEEE Power Electronics Society, China Electrotechnical Society, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and in cooperation with Asian Power Electronics Coordinating Committee, Sichuan Tianfu New District and PELS Chengdu Chapter. There are ten instructors for the 2021 Asian PhD School. Each of them will give a tutorial about the development trends and state-of-art research results of a specific topic in power electronics. Each tutorial is scheduled on a half-day basis for three hours. During the course, International Forum on Electronized Future Energy Systems, technical visits and cultural experience activities will be held at the same time. Detailed information is as follows. 1） All the lectures will be performed through on-line live broadcast, and will be video recorded and kept accessible for the participants for playbacks on-demand in the following 2 weeks. 2） There will be a center classroom with web broadcast/conferencing facilities set up on the campus of Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, to host any instructors and students who can travel to the School site personally and execute teaching/learning from there.

Eligible Applicants of Enrollment

1） PhD students in power electronics area from Asian universities; 2） Young faculties from Asian universities who got their PhD degrees in the past 10 years; 3） Young engineers based in Asia who got their PhD degrees in the past 10 years. Note: Other applicants will be considered under the capacity limit of the school to ensure the quality of communications for both on-site and on-line. These applicants will be lined up once the eligible applicants are fixed, in a first-come-first- service sequence for the remaining seats under the limit. Official notifications of enrollment results will be sent out by Aug. 10th.

Registration Policy

1） 150USD (or 980CNY) each for offline participants, and 90USD (or 580CNY) each for online participants. 2） Registration fees will be fully refunded for IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) members once complete the school (On-site students need to participate in International Forum on Electronized Future Energy Systems.). For members of APECC member organizations (CES, KIPE, IEEJ/IAS) who have completed all courses, but not members of PELS, half of the registration fee paid will be refunded after the course. 3） Please refer to the school website for the details of the registration guidelines.
