Gary Cortés sent in this picture as his havurah celebrated Hanukkah remotely this year. The havurah Gary is in has been meeting in person for decades, and by Zoom since last April. Meeting virtually helped them to stay connected through the pandemic. By using Zoom, they have even been able to meet while members are out of town. They meet monthly and it has meant so much for them to still be able to “see” each other! This month, Gary said “I have set up mystery guests that I cannot reveal but, will let you know next week. On March 7th we have the JScreen executive director doing a presentation on Genetic testing for Jewish prevalent cancers.”

If you are interested in learning more about havurot, and maybe even creating a new one, please contact swilliams@ bethshalomkc.org.
