OCEAN DECAY – MOODBOARD My Ocean Decay collection derived from research into plastic pollution in the ocean and motivation of wanting to make a change. Taking inspiration from a mix of industrial clothing and textures found in the sea such as ghost fishing nets and coral, my collection developed into a dark, illustrative and textural look featuring oversized clothing, draping materials and linear prints. OCEAN DECAY – FINAL LINE UP My final line up consists of a mix of recycled materials such as and knitted into a macrame texture along with organic denims and bamboo and jerseys. This industrial looking collection features an all-over illustrative screen print of rope entan- gled in coral in various colour combinations and a digitally printed organic cotton saying ‘or- ganic and sustainable, save our seas and no plastic’. Smaller details such as laser cut buttons and buckles, pull strings and black metal eyelets, make an appearance on all garments. OCEAN DECAY – OUTFIT 1 BOARD Outift 1 consists of an orange denim boilersuit with an all-over print of coral entangled in rope. Flat-felled seams with white top stitching across the garment with an exposed zip and a jute pullstring through black metal eyelets. This is paired with an organic denim jacket with an organic cotton digitally printing lining. The back features a statement piece of a coral illustration, laser cut and etched buttons are positioned down the front of the jacket and oversized pockets stretch from the side seam to the front seam. OCEAN DECAY – OUTFIT 2 BOARD This outfit creates the concept look for the collection. An industrial look- ing organic denim boilersuit with a lapel front features and long, draping macrame sleeve made from recycled wool and sectioned off knee pockets. This is paired with an bamboo and cotton jersey long sleeve top featuring the collections rope and coral screen print and top stitching, OCEAN DECAY – OUTFIT 3 BOARD This outfit shows a more feminine side to the collection. A printed pina- fore dress with a jute pullstring around the wasit, a double pocket feature and laser cut buttons sits on top of a cotton jersey top with a long drap- ing fishing net sleeve. The textures play together to create an interesting and dark feel to the outfit. OCEAN DECAY – OUTFIT 4 BOARD This outfit holds many different textures and . Organic denim trousers with an all-over print of rope and coral feature a long draping fishing net leg and a jute pull . This is paired with an exaggerated macrame jumper with a funnel neck and oversized sleeve draping down to the ground. OCEAN DECAY –GARMENT TECHNICAL FLATS OCEAN DECAY – DETAILS BOARD Ocean Decay features various textures and details across the collection, ranging from mac- rame matches, to lasercut and etched buttons. Jute pullstrings through black metal eyelets are shown on waist of the garments to secure a comfortable fit, top stitching in an opposing colour feature on the denim outfits and the wooden buttons with a coral motifs and text are seen as fastenings through orange button holes on the jacket and dress. Coloured macrame pacthes make an appearance on the net which drapes from various garments. OCEAN DECAY – FORM BOARD My garments hold a masculine and oversized fit with excessive and draping materials. Boxy boilersuits and jackets combined with long, hanging fishing net sleeves, work to- gether to create an industrial style collection featuring various textures and details. The different fabrics used create different fits to the garments, the denim garments being much more structured and the jersey and softer fabrics hanging off the body. OCEAN DECAY – PRINT AND PATTERN BOARD Ocean Decay features one main textiles print of coral entangled in rope in various colourways scross the garments, The same illustrations have been turned into a statement embroidery piece on the back of the jacket. The macrame resembles a fishing net texture and the smaller coloured patches attached to it, reflect coral growing on this disregarded net left in the sea.
