HOST The 2018 Bob Yuile Memorial 61th National Capital Regatta will be held at the Britannia Yacht Club, 2777 Cassels Street, Ottawa, Ontario, July 14 & 15, under the organization of the Britannia Yacht Club. All races will be held on Lac Deschênes in the Ottawa River.

NOTICE OF RACE RULES The rules will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020 (RRS). Current class rules will apply. Prescriptions of Sail Canada will apply. RRS may be modified.

ELIGIBILITY Entrants must be members of a Yacht Club recognized by their National Sailing Authority or a member of their Class Association. All boats and equipment must conform to their respective class and/or fleet measurement, equipment and accommodation regulations.

CLASSES All Dinghies and Sailboards.

5 BOATS CONSTITUTE A CLASS Classes with less than 5 entries sail in a handicap class using Portsmouth number ratings.

ENTRY FEES – Before June 22, 2018 Optimists, O’pen Bics $75.00. 420’s for youth sailors, under the age of 16 $130.00 per boat. Two-person boats $150.00 per boat. All other classes $90.00. Laser Class Assoc. Surcharge $3.00. Coaches $45.00. Entry fee includes regatta souvenir, lunches on Saturday and Sunday and Saturday night BBQ dinner, all fees include HST. AS OF JUNE 23, 2018, FEES FOR ALL CLASSES WILL INCREASE BY $25.00 PER CLASS.

REGISTRATION Advance online registration is strongly encouraged. Online registrations will be accepted until 16:00 Friday, July 13, 2018. In-person registration will take place at the Regatta Office of Britannia Yacht Club on Friday, July 13, 2018, from 1600-2100 hours. Registrations for out of town sailors ONLY will be accepted Saturday, July, 14th between 0730-0830. All participants must check in at the Regatta office during the registration periods noted above to pick up their race kits. The registration form can be found on BYC website - www.byc.ca and will be open April 1, 2018.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Saturday, July 14, 2018 1000 - Skipper and Coach Meeting. 1130 - First Race. 1730 - N.C.R. Dinner – Barbecue your own steaks and entertainment.

Sunday, July 15, 2018 0930 - First Race. Awards Ceremony to Follow.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be provided at registration, after 1600 hours on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Regatta Office.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Regatta.

SERIES FORMAT AND SCORING A maximum of 15 races are scheduled with one or more races constituting a series; one drop with five or more races, second drop with ten or more races. The Low Point Scoring System of the Racing Rules, Appendix A will apply.

PRIZES Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible following the completion of racing on Sunday. Various BYC trophies will be awarded to winners in their respective classes. As well, NCR medallions will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each category. Other awards may also be presented.

REFUND POLICY Competitors entering and withdrawing up to July 1, 2018 will be refunded their entry fee, less a $10.00 administration charge.

ACCOMMODATIONS Free camping is provided on B.Y.C. grounds.
