Abstract (A 150-word description about the course) This course aims to broaden students’ knowledge and enhance students’ skills in writing couplet and classical Chinese verse, including shi and ci poetry. Tutorials are conducted in a learn-and-discover approach to provide students with ample writing practice of these three genres, and generate critical and meaningful discussions. Students are encouraged to share their writing experience with classmates and also to comment on classmates’ assignments critically. The course will also elevate students’ abilities of literary appreciation. 2.
