Port of London - River Thames NOTICE TO MARINERS M74 of 2019 VAUXHALL REACH VAUXHALL BRIDGE ARCH CLOSURES Contractors working on behalf of Transport for London will be conducting inspection and non-destructive testing at Vauxhall Bridge from Friday 27th December 2019 until Tuesday 31st December 2019. Whilst transfer operations are taking place London VTS will broadcast requests for vessels to “proceed with caution” or “proceed at slow speed”, as described in Permanent Notices to Mariners 4 of 2014 as required by the works. International Code Flags “Romeo Yankee” will be displayed when this is in effect. Local Traffic Control Local Traffic Control will be undertaken from a PLA Harbour Service Launch in the vicinity of Vauxhall Bridge, during the Low Water period on 29th December 2019 from approximately 0800 to 1300. All vessels wishing intending to navigate between Millbank Pier and Westminster Boating Base are to call ‘VAUXHALL CONTROL’ on VHF Channel 14 as follows: to pass through the bridge should call ’VAUXHALL CONTROL’ for permission. • Inbound at or departing Millbank Pier • Outbound at Westminster Boating Base • Prior to departing a berth or mooring between Millbank Pier and Westminster Boating Base All vessels are to navigate with caution, maintaining a continuous watch on VHF Channel 14. Safety Boat PRONTO will be on site whilst works are undertaken. Arches closed to navigation will be marked in accordance with the Port of London Authority Thames Byelaws 2012 namely: • By day, three red discs 0.6 metres in diameter at the points of an equilateral triangle with the apex downwards and the base horizontal • By night, three red lights in similar positions to the discs displayed by day Navigation through no 4 arch will be controlled by the smart signal light described in NTM M25 of 2019. Further information will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
