Welcome to Downtown Detroit! We are pleased to offer service on the Detroit People Mover for the 2016 National Veterans Golden Age Games, which will be a safe, quick and effective means of transportation between your host hotel and other venues.

People Mover trains arrive every 3-4 minutes to deliver patrons in climate-controlled comfort. Our Transit Police provide not only a watchful presence, but also are a helpful resource should you need assistance.

Handicap accessibility is available via elevators and escalators at all stations.

ORDER UNLIMITED RIDE PASSES FOR THE 2016 NVGAG

E-Store Direct allows registrants to purchase the Detroit People Mover’s Convention Pass Card, granting unlimited rides on our downtown circulator transportation system at one low price. For the duration of your stay, travel is easy, fun and simple!

How It Works 1. Visit the 2016 NVGAG People Mover’s website http://passes.thepeoplemover.com/products/0716veteransgoldenagegames to get started.

2. Click on the “Shop Online” Tab and select “Passes” from the menu.

3. The Convention Pass is a featured item (VETGAMES) and will be activated for use from July 10-14. The cost is $7.50 US, payable via credit card (an additional $2.48 shipping/processing fee is added to every order).

4. Passes will be available for purchase online through June 21, 2016, and by phone for delivery to your reserved downtown hotel only through June 30, 2016.

5. That’s it! Once the secure transaction is complete, the pass will be mailed out directly to the purchaser, OR delivered to your reserved downtown hotel.

USING PEOPLE MOVER FAST PASS TO RIDE

With a People Mover Fast Pass, it can only be swiped through a station fare gate one time in a 15-minute interval. Once it has accepted your fare at that station, it will not register again at that location for the above period. You can, however use the pass at any other station.

• Place the pass in your right hand – black stripe facing you. • Step up to the fare reader. Insert the pass at the rear and swipe it straight forward. • Listen for the beep. The fare gate monitor says “Thank You.” • Now you may move through the turnstile.

ACCESSING PEOPLE MOVER FROM YOUR HOTEL

Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel visitors: Use the Renaissance Center Station LOCATION: Tower 200. You have three ways to reach the platform level: stairwells at either end of the station; elevator or escalator. • FROM STATION TO HOTEL: Exit at Renaissance Center Station and proceed left to circulation ring.

Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Hotel visitors: Use the Millender Center Station LOCATION: Level 5, via escalator or elevator • FROM STATION TO HOTEL: Exit at Millender Center Station and take the elevator; Option 2: exit at Renaissance Center Station and take the second level pedestrian crosswalk to the Millender Center.
