Sports Activities S. K. Somaiya college of Arts, Science and Commerce has produced a good number of International and National level Sports persons in the last 10 years. Some of our students who have won lot of awards and have been also selected to represent our country in recent times are Nidhi Singh (Athletics) Sanish Amberkar (Table Tennis), Siddhesh Pande (Table Tennis) and Harshwardhan Salvi (Baseball).
Our College participates in almost all the sports events at the Inter Collegiate University of Mumbai Tournaments in both Men and Women categories. We have Professional Coaches to select the best sports students from our college and help them represent the college at State, National and International Levels. Each year more than 10 students represent University of Mumbai in the All-India University tournaments. Players such as Akshaya Iyer, Nidhi Singh, Prachi Pawaskar, PrathameshTandel (Athletics), Shreya Bhat (Football), Tejashree Kanitkar, Dhanashree Kanitkar (Volleyball) and Prabhat Senva ( Taekwondo) are some of our outstanding performers. Our College encourages and also provides training facility for students in Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, squash, Taekwondo, Kabaddi Baseball, Athletics, at our Athletic sports ground. We also have a complete synthetic track for the athletes to train and Practice.
The College Provides sports kit to all the players and also TA/DA is provided Special Allowances are given to students who participates at the State, National and International levels. We urge student to come and participate in all sports activities of our Gymkhana. We also encourage the female students to take part in sports and gymkhana activities.
The Gymkhana also arranges cricket and Football Inter College and Inter campus tournament and also conduct various activities for Teaching and Non Teaching staff. Every year the college conduct an Annual sports day where students and Staff participate in huge numbers. In the gymkhana, we have carrom Boards, Chess Boards, Table Tennis Tables, Accessories for Cricket, Volleyball, football, basketball, baseball and Taekwondo equipments.
