Recommendations for Teaching Physical and Health Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic This is an evolving document that will reflect changes made to health policy recommendations as the situation evolves. The following guidelines reflect the current situation, last updated: Dec 1, 2020 Adapted with permission from Csc Providence School Board Foreword This document aims to support safe and effective physical and basic health education. “The intention of these guidelines is to assist with decision making and to strengthen the capacity of every school’s ability to provide meaningful, safe, engaging, quality PHE and health promoting opportunities during class time and physical activity before, throughout, and after the school day” (Physical Health Education (PHE), Canada). These recommendations are subject to change as directed by Grey Bruce’s Medical Officer of Health and may evolve as new information becomes available. They are based on current best practices in physical health education, COVID-19 health and safety requirements, and Ontario’s Ministry of Education (EDU) Guidance to Reopening Schools. The benefits of participating in physical activity education must be well-balanced with the risk of transmission of COVID-19. It is essential to plan activities well, so that physical, social, and emotional benefits can be maximized. Creating a Safe and Welcoming Environment: It is essential that physical health education is delivered in a welcoming and safe environment, regardless of the situation and context of teaching. Students and staff members should feel safe and comfortable. Safety measures and strict cleaning protocols must be put in place to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and to ensure the health and well-being of all. -

The first concern of course is for our families and friends. Protecting their health and limiting the spread of the virus still is our grea- test common obligation. We are all asked to adapt to the current circumstances, follow the restrictions in our sport and the advice for per- sonal distancing where necessary. And we can see that in following official advice we are successfully fighting Covid-19. As a result in more and more countries the strict measures will be eased in the upcoming weeks, a return to limited training slowly is possible. Polo clubs and stables affected from the restric- tions have mastered the special challenges very well. Des- pite the sometimes limiting possibilities, the care for the horses was and is always upheld. And fortunately the good and close cooperation with the authorities has made it possible to quickly implement individual training plans. -
Introduction
Introduction The 2012-2013 school year saw our first drop in participation in 6 years. We went from an all- time high of 55 clubs down to 54, the product of losing a couple of clubs before gaining one. Additionally, our participation numbers reflected this slight downward trend. This was perhaps the only area though where we saw regression. Our clubs continue to perform at the levels we have become accustomed to and events per club continue to increase yearly. Our biggest areas of growth though were on the marketing and programming fronts. Under the guidance of our Club Sports Council and dedicated marketing team we hosted two successful events in the form of dodgeball and broomball tournaments bringing a diverse range of clubs together in spirited competition and community building. Proceeds from the events were put towards Hurricane Sandy relief and the continuation of our Carbon Off-Set Initiative. Additionally our outreach through digital and social media outlets continues to grow. The following report includes a snapshot of Club Sports this past academic year. In addition to statistics surrounding participation, a brief assessment of our marketing and programming efforts is included. We did not assess leadership outcomes this year as we participated in the Student Life initiative exploring them on a larger scale. A discussion of emerging trends and a list of or club’s numerous accomplishments concludes the report. Thank you for supporting our Club Sports and all the students whose lives at UVM are enriched through their participation. -

Baseball, long dubbed the national pastime, is such a symbol. It is first and foremost a beloved game played at some level in virtually every American town, on dusty sandlots and in gleaming billion-dollar stadiums. But it is also a cultural phenom- enon that has provided a host of colorful characters and cherished traditions. Most Americans can sing at least a few lines of the song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Generations of children have collected baseball cards with players’ pictures and statistics, the most valuable of which are now worth several million dollars. More than any other sport, baseball has reflected the best and worst of American society. Today, it also mirrors the nation’s increasing diversity, as countries that have embraced America’s favorite sport now send some of their best players to compete in the “big leagues” in the United States. It also provides examples of sporting heritage programmes currently offered to support the curriculum in museum and sport settings across the country The physicality and accessibility of sport cuts through barriers of language, religion, class and culture. There is growing evidence that sporting heritage, taught as part of the school curriculum, is a very effective medium for motivating under-achieving pupils. Whilst the main academic focus of sporting heritage is history – most pertinently local history – it can also provide an effective springboard to cross-curricular learning and to sports participation. Many of our sports clubs were founded in the 19th century and, from Premier League football clubs to village cricket and rugby clubs, are often the best examples of living history in their communities, regularly attracting more people onto their premises and more interest in their fortunes than any other local organisations of comparable age. -

The study was conducted among 220 male players (110 kabaddi and 110 gatka) those who had represented interuniversity from North India. The subjects were thoroughly aware with the Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh testing procedure as well as the purpose and significance of the study. Subjects were made aware about Former Professor and Dean the conduct of the study and related information was given by the researcher. The variables selected for Academic Affairs and Head of the study are anthropometric respectively. They are Height, Weight, Humerus bicondylar diameter, Department of Physical Femur bicondylar diameter. Further the data were analyzed to find out the significant differences among Education and Sport the groups. ‘t’-test statistical technique was used to analyze the significant differences and the level of Technology, SGGSW University significance was set at 0.05 level for testing the hypothesis. Further the data were analyzed to find out the Fatehgarh, Sahib, Punjab, India significant differences among the groups. The results revealed that there was insignificant difference among the kabaddi and gatka player in Height, Weight, Humerus bicondylar and Femur bicondylar. -

Cricket remains a premier choice. A recent research done by BBC claims that in India 38% of Indians want to play and make a career in Cricket. The general population perception of people, is that sports like Football are international. Hockey, Kabaddi, Boxing etc are played and taught but are not as popular as Cricket. Therefore Cricket is India's de facto national sport but the extent of its dominance in the country's broadsheet newspaper was to be examined, for which, this research has been done. Times Of India was analysed, since it is the most read English newspaper and caters to the urban population and youth. It was also valuable to determine whether there was a significant share given to other sports. So for the sake of comparison, time frame selected was such that, Pro Kabaddi League and India vs West Indies Cricket tournament was going on. Kirton Primary School PE and Sport Funding The government provides additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. 2019/20 It is estimated that £19,048 grant funding will be received for 2019/20. It is proposed that this will be spent on a variety of projects including membership of the Boston Schools Partnership, continued funding of after-school sports clubs (five days a week) and installation of outdoor fitness equipment for use in lessons and at break times. Our goals are to: increase activity levels in children every day they are at school and encourage this habit to continue into the weekend and after school develop a strong culture of sport and fitness across the school, increase inclusion, involving more children in sports and competitions – taking advantage of opportunities offered through Boston School Partnership and running and hosting our own events, run two Change 4 Life programmes, engage children in new and varied sports, maintain or increase the numbers of children trying sports or representing the school at sports, develop different sporting challenges using the new playground equipment (e.g. playground cross training using the static gym equipment), continue the professional development of and support to teachers to introduce new skills and sports to the children, through staff meetings, shared best practice and one-to-one mentoring and develop the monthly inter-house competitions so that more children have the opportunity to try new sports during the school day but outside normal PE lessons. 2018/19 In 2018/19 the school received an allocation of £20,182.
