RECOMMENDATIONS:

A. That the City Council, designate the unnumbered location situated one sidewalk square northerly of and between numbered locations 69K and 70K as shown on Sheet 19 of Plan D-13 788 for the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the installation of the name of Scarlett Johansson at 6931 Hollywood Boulevard.

B. Inform the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce ofthe Council's action on this matter.

C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on May 2, 2012,

DISCUSSION:

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Conunerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame the name of Scarlett Johansson. The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street 3rd Floor, Counter 23.

DEHAVEN (70K) to the WEST and MARCO ANTONIO SOLIS (HAS NO NUMBER DUE TO CHANGE OF PLACEMENT ON SIDEWALK) to the west. Four-time Golden Globe nominee and BAFTA winner Scarlett Johansson, has proven to be one of Hollywood's most talented young actresses. She won a Tony in 2010 for Broadway debut in the play "A View from a Bridge" opposite . She was most recently seen in the film "" opposite as well as the box office hit "" playing the role of'Black . Widow.' Johansson will reprise that role in "The Avengers" opening in May 2012. She also recently wrapped production on film "Under The Skin" for director ("Sexy Beast") playing the lead role. Next up, she will portray in the film, " and the Making of " opposite Anthony Hopkins. Johansson received rave reviews and a "Best Actress" Award at the Venice Film Festival for her starring role opposite in "Lost in Translation," the critically­ acclaimed second film by director . Discussed began by Greg Ashlock regarding looking for more national radio personalities. He approached Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stem and both declined to be considered at this time.

Discussion was held regarding tenns of committee members. Mitch felt that the three positions that were to be termed out in TV, Radio and Recording still had one more year to go. Leron Gubler mentioned that this would be discussed with Hollywood Chamber of Conunerce Chairman Marty Shelton in an upcoming meeting.
