51 Sgt Robert Evans, Tyddyn Grugor, Killed Lance Serjeant Robert Evans lived at Tyddyn Grugor, Llangoed; 2nd Battalion Welsh Guards (273991); probably died in hospital of wounds on Friday 8th September 1944 age 28; is buried in Leopoldsburg War Cemetery, Limburg, Belgium; was living in with his wife and son at the time of his death; commemorated on family headstone in Capel Ty Rhys (new) graveyard, Llangoed.

52 Gds Hugh John Jones, Road, Died Guardsman Hugh John Jones, known as ‘Hughie John’ lived at 4 Beaumaris Road Llangoed; 2nd Battalion Welsh Guards (2735068); was a prisoner of war; died whilst in captivity on Sunday 25th July 1943 age of 25; buried in Malbork Commonwealth War Cemetery, Poland; commemorated on family headstone, Churchyard of St Cawdraf Llangoed.

53 LAC John Edward Jones, Coedwig Terrace, Died Leading Aircraftman John Jones lived at Coedwig Terrace, Penmon; attended Beaumaris Grammar School; Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (1185783); died in the Far East - possibly disease, possibly prisoner of war, on Saturday 9th June 1945 age 29; buried in Ambon War Cemetery Indonesia; commemorated on family headstone Capel Ty Rhys new graveyard, Llangoed.

54 Gnr Edward Owen, Pen y Fron, Killed Gunner Edward Owen lived in Pen y Fron Terrace, Penmon; Royal Artillery Maritime Regiment (3717710); was Mentioned in Despatches for outstanding service; killed on Monday 6th July 1942 age 30; buried at sea, commemorated on Portsmouth Naval Memorial, England and family headstone, Churchyard of St , Penmon.

55 Gnr Glyn Roberts, Tyn Lon Cottages, Killed Gunner Glyn Roberts was brought up in Tyn Lon Cottages, ; Royal Field Artillery (957981); killed Saturday 24th October 1942, in Egypt age 23; buried at El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt; married to Doreen; brother of John Roberts; commemorated on family headstone Churchyard of St Seiriol, Penmon.

56 Pte John Roberts, Tyn Lon Cottages, Killed Private John Roberts lived at Tyn Lon Cottages, Llanfaes; 6th Battalion York & Lancashire Regiment (4209596); killed in Italy on Wednesday 13th September 1944 age 21; buried in Coriano Ridge War Cemetery, Italy; brother of Glyn Roberts; commemorated on family headstone Churchyard of St Seiriol, Penmon.

57 Fus Trevor Thomas, Tyn Rardd, Killed Fusilier Richard Trevor Thomas, 1st Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers (4197089); killed on Monday 17th April 1944; buried in Kohima War Cemetery, India; son of Richard and Jane Thomas; commemorated on family headstone Capel Ty Rhys (new) graveyard Llangoed.

58 Dvr Robert John Thomas, Angorfa, Killed Driver Robert John Thomas was brought up in Angorfa, Llangoed; served with the Royal Army Service Corps (T/247030); killed on Monday 18th September 1944 age 23; buried Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Netherlands; commemorated on family headstone Churchyard of St Cawdraf, Llangoed.

60 Sergeant David Prewer, Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve, Aelfor, Penmon, Died Sgt David Prewer attended Beaumaris Grammar School; parents lived in Penmon; served as a Bomb Aimer in a Lancaster, Bomber Command; died Friday 21st April 1944; commemorated Runnymede Memorial and on family headstone in Capel Ty Rhys new graveyard, Llangoed.

61 Sergeant Basil Gerald Roland Tennent, Royal Air Force, Killed Born in Bristol; career serviceman who joined the RAF at age 15; served in Singapore where he and his family lived; wife and two daughters were evacuated February 1942, as the Japanese invaded; became a Prisoner of War; died as a result of ill- treatment in the camps, age 35; commemorated on Singapore Memorial in Kranji War Cemetery; commemorated on family grave in Churchyard of St Seiriol, Penmon.
