THE OFFICIAL UNIFORM FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS, GRADES K – 5:

- RED LOGO PURCHASED AT ALL UNIFORM WEAR

- KHAKI OR NAVY PANTS, , / PURCHASED AT ALL UNIFORM WEAR

THE OFFICIAL UNIFORM FOR MS STUDENTS, GRADES 6 – 8:

– BLUE OR WHITE LOGO SHIRTS PURCHASED AT ALL UNIFORM WEAR

– KHAKI OR NAVY PANTS, SKIRTS, SHORTS, OR SKORTS PURCHASED AT ALL UNIFORM WEAR

THE OFFICIAL OUTERWEAR UNIFORM, GRADES K – 8:

STUDENTS MAY ALSO WEAR SWEATSHIRTS WITH THE LOGO OR FLEECE WITH THE LOGO PURCHASED AT ALL UNIFORM WEAR. HOWEVER, STUDENTS MUST STILL WEAR THE OFFICIAL UNIFORM BENEATH THE OFFICIAL OUTERWEAR UNIFORM. THE COLLAR OF THE SHIRT MUST BE FOLDED OVER THE SWEATSHIRT.

OTHER UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

- STUDENT ID BADGE ON A LANYARD WORN ABOUT THE NECK (DCSA WILL PROVIDE)

- BELTS MUST BE WORN WITH PANTS/SKIRTS/SHORTS/SKORTS WITH LOOPS

- PANTS MUST BE WORN AT THE AND NOT BELOW THE WAIST

- SKIRTS/SKORTS/SHORTS MUST BE AN APPROPRIATE LENGTH, “JUST ABOVE THE KNEE”

- SHIRTS MUST ALWAYS BE TUCKED IN

- MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES

ON COLD DAYS: On cold days students may wear whatever outwear they choose to school as long as it is removed upon entering the building. Inside the school on colder days, students may wear a long sleeve shirt underneath their uniform shirt. This long sleeve shirt must be of a color similar to their uniform shirt. Multi-colored shirts, camouflage shirts, or shirts that detract from the overall look of the uniform are not allowed.

GENERAL: DCSA follows the other Code Policies as stated in the Duval County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct. Parents and students agree to read, understand, and abide by DCPS Uniform and Dress Policy as found at: http://www.duvalschools.org.

“BLUE FRIDAY” – As a fund raiser for student activities and on FRIDAYS ONLY for $1.00, students may wear:

- BLUE JEANS (ONLY the color BLUE, not white, green, black, or any other colored jeans) SKINNY JEANS ARE NOT ALLOWED. The jeans MAY NOT have any rips, tears, holes, frayed edges, printings or designs, and must be properly laundered. SHIRTS MUST STILL BE TUCKED IN.

- DCSA LOGO SHIRTS, SPIRIT SHIRTS JERSEYS, SWEATSHIRTS or other shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys which have an approved DCSA LOGO for clubs, teams, grade levels, etc.

Students arriving to school in clothing OTHER THAN specifically stated above and/or without paying the $1.00 fund raiser fee, will lose the privilege of participating in “BLUE JEANS FRIDAYS.” Parents will be called, and they agree to come to school to correct their child’s uniform or to remove their child from school for the day.

“DRESS DOWN DAYS” – On rare occasions and with Administrative permission only, students will be allowed to wear clothing other than specified in DCSA’S UNIFORM POLICY. “Dress Down Days” will be individually awarded and determined in advance of the student’s designated “Dress Down Day.” Students who have earned a “Dress Down Day” will be identified by a colored wrist band (or other identifying means), and they must wear the wrist band so it is clearly visible to teachers, staff, and Administration. Acceptable wear on these days should be guided by “UNACCEPTABLE or ACCEPTABLE” style clothing as stated below.

“UNACCEPTABLE” STYLE CLOTHING: DRESS THAT CANNOT BE WORN AT ANY TIME WHILE IN SCHOOL ARE:

- /shorts or CAMOUFLAGE PANTS/shorts of any kind - , , PANTS - SKINNY JEANS or COLORED JEANS - except as allowed for “BLUE JEANS FRIDAYS” - HOODED SWEATS SHIRTS/HOODED JACKETS of any kind inside the school - TORN, RIPPED, FRAYED CLOTHING of any kind - CLOTHING THAT IS NOT PROPERLY LAUNDERED - SLIDERS, FLIP-FLOPS, or any with open toes and/or open heels - Any outerwear other than sweatshirts or fleece jackets sold at All Uniform Wear - Ill-fitting or tight fitting shirts, t-shirts, tank tops, tops, etc. - Shorts, skirts, skorts that are “too short” – more than 5 inches above the knee is inappropriate - Clothing with designs or wording promoting alcohol, drugs, gangs, etc. - , , brightly colored and/or head - , oversized belt buckles, body piercings, large hoop

“ACCEPTABLE” STYLE CLOTHING : Will be solely at the discretion of the Administration and as stated in the Official Uniform Policy. Should the clothing be determined to be unacceptable, parents will be called, and they agree to come to school to correct their child’s uniform or to remove their child from school for the day.
