For your convenience, we have compiled information that we trust will be helpful as you shop for uniforms. We have made a few changes to the Elementary and Middle School uniforms. This document reflects the current poli- cies. CHANGES TO THE DRESS CODE FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR th th Middle School Grades 6 -8 now have the option to wear navy blue, white or red polo shirts on Wednesday for chapel day. th th Middle School Grades 6 -8 may wear navy blue or red NCA approved sweatshirts with hoods during chapel. The green chapel cardigan/vest will be no longer be an option to wear. Only NCA approved sweatshirts, fleece vests/jackets with logos, and cardigan/sweaters may be worn to school. Coats may be worn for warmth outside for recess but NON-NCA sweatshirts will not be permitted. DRESS CODE INFORMATION ATTACHMENTS The attached uniform information sheets have been designed to help you navigate our uniform policies, vendors and specifics to our uniform. DRESS CODE SPECIFICS: This detailed information outlines approved NCA uniform standards for Elementary and Middle School boys and girls. VENDOR SELECTIONS: NCA works with three vendors. This document provides information on where to purchase NCA approved uniforms and how to order them. HERE’S YOUR STARTING POINT Read through this information very carefully before shopping and/or ordering uniforms for the school year. (Keep in mind if you purchase items at Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms, Creative Logo Solutions or Dennis Uniform, you must order ONLY NCA approved uniforms. UNIFORM REMINDERS (K-8) PE UNIFORMS AND SPIRIT WEAR: All official NCA (with NCA* logo) P.E. T-shirts and Sweatshirts must be ordered from Creative Logo Solutions. Fleece zipper down vests/jackets in red or navy blue may be purchased from Creative Logo Solutions, Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniforms and may be worn on non-chapel days in the classroom. *NCA Logo refers to the compass logo, NCA initials or Gator Athletics Screen printing. Length of skirts/skorts/shorts/jumpers/free dress outfits is as follows: From the hem of the garment to the center of the back of the knee, must not exceed 3 inches. This is the minimum length allowed. Garments may be longer if desired. Middle school girls can only wear the Tom- my Hilfiger or Dennis specific skirt specified by NCA. No other skirts will be allowed this year. All uniforms and non-uniform (PE and free dress included) must comply with length requirements. For more information, we encourage you to review the K-5 Boys, K-5 Girls, Middle School Boys and Middle School Girls specific guidelines. Specific guidelines, changes and purchasing guidelines are available in these documents. TOMMY HILFIGER UNIFORMS-https://www.globalschoolwear.com/school-search SUGGESTED VENDORS Most of our uniform items must be purchased through our three approved vendors. We highly recom- mend using only our vendors for all uniform items. If you choose to shop from one of the following stores we only recommend purchasing pants and/or polo shirts. If you choose to purchase pants or shirts out- side of our vendors please make sure these items comply with our dress code. Suggested Stores for pants and polo shirts: Old Navy, Target, Kohl’s, Sears, Children’s Place and JC Penney’s PE UNIFORMS Creative Logo Solutions frequently sells PE uniforms in our lobby before school or after school. Dates and times will be posted on our website. PRICES NCA has found vendors that have quality products for good prices. Thus, price adjustments and increases are not made by NCA. RIGHT TO AMEND NCA has the right to amend the uniform code at any time with or without notice. NCA has the right to de- termine whether or not a clothing item(s) meets our code or the mission of our school. PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD’S CLOTHING We strongly recommend that you label your children’s clothing. Unlabeled items are taken to a local charity at the end of every month. Creative Logo Solutions offers monogramming for NCA sweatshirts which is recommended. Dennis Uniforms sells labels that are ideal for labeling all your children’s outer clothing items, backpacks, water bottles and lunch boxes. You may also use a sharpie to write clearly on the inside of all clothing items. DRESS CODE COMPLIANCE Every student is given a two week grace period at the beginning of each school year. There are no consequences if a child is out of dress code for the first two weeks of school. Please refer to the Family Handbook or your child’s homeroom handbook for consequences for being out of dress code after the grace period is over.     Dress Code for Dance & Yoga *All Student’s hair should be tied back and out of the face for all movement classes. Workshops Moving with Parent & Tot Bring yourself and your child in something you can easily move in. We will be dancing, rolling and sliding and jumping on and off the floor. Dancers will dance barefoot. Beginning/Intermediate Ballet Dancers may wear leotards and convertible tights or leggings. Hair should be up and out of the face. A bun would be ideal. Ballet shoes are optional. Intro to Tap Dancers should wear comfortable and flexible clothes to move in. Tap shoes are required. Hair should be up and out of the face. Beginning Hip Hop Breakdancing 101 Hair should be up and out of the face. Dancers should wear breathable workout clothes, like leggings, warm-up pants and tank tops or t-shirts. Pants that cover the knee are recommended. Dancers may also wear sneakers that are clean on the bottom (not worn on the street) or a dance sneaker for support. Classes for Ages 3-5 Hip Hoppers Shake, Rattle & Roll Hair should be up and out of the face. Dancers should wear comfortable clothes to move in like leggings, cotton pants, t-shirts or tank tops. No slippers, zippers or buttons. Please have your child ready to move barefooted (NO FOOTED TIGHTS). Please keep accessories such as crowns, wands, wings, stuffed animals and ballet slippers at home.     ST. MARY’S ACADEMY MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS CODE-2017-18 In order for students and teachers to optimize their time together, SMA insists on modest attire. The school reserves the right to require offending students to cover themselves, change clothes, or remove distracting jewelry or make-up. If a student receives three dress code infractions, he she will check in each morning before attending classes for a designated period of time. In some cases, per grade-level, a dress code infraction precludes being free to participate in the Friday dress-down day. Thank you for supporting the dress code. MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS Blouses/Shirts/Tops o Cleavage, shoulders and undergarments must be covered. o Necklines must be high and close enough to the body so that cleavage is not seen when bending. o May have small logos of at most 1.5 inches squared. o Sleeves are required. The following information will help advise both Members and guests of our views (and your responsibilities) as it relates to attire. Dress Code Men and boys: Jeans (no holes, tears or frays) are permitted throughout the entire clubhouse at all times Tuesday-Friday. Jeans are prohibited Saturday, Sunday, Monday and specified holidays. Cargo pants, cargo shorts, short-sleeve mock turtleneck golf shirts, swim attire, tank tops and cut -offs of any type are prohibited throughout the clubhouse and patio. T-shirts, gym shorts, lacrosse shorts, sandals and flip-flops may be worn in the locker room, exercise room and pool area. Hats must be removed when entering the clubhouse.
