Dear Parents, This information on NCA pertains to the 2018-2019 school year. For your convenience, we have compiled information that we trust will be helpful as you shop for uniforms. We have made a few changes to the Elementary and Middle School uniforms. This document reflects the current poli- cies. CHANGES TO THE CODE FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

th th  Middle School Grades 6 -8 now have the option to wear navy blue, white or red polo on Wednesday for chapel day. th th  Middle School Grades 6 -8 may wear navy blue or red NCA approved sweatshirts with hoods during chapel.  The green chapel /vest will be no longer be an option to wear.  Only NCA approved sweatshirts, fleece vests/ with logos, and cardigan/ may be worn to school. may be worn for warmth outside for recess but NON-NCA sweatshirts will not be permitted. DRESS CODE SPECIFICS: This detailed information outlines approved NCA uniform standards for Elementary and Middle School boys and girls. VENDOR SELECTIONS: NCA works with three vendors. Read through this information very carefully before shopping and/or ordering uniforms for the school year. (Keep in mind if you purchase items at Tommy Hilfiger Uniforms, Creative Logo Solutions or Dennis Uniform, you must order ONLY NCA approved uniforms. UNIFORM REMINDERS (K-8)

PE UNIFORMS AND SPIRIT WEAR:  All official NCA (with NCA* logo) P.E. T-shirts and Sweatshirts must be ordered from Creative Logo Solutions.  Fleece zipper down vests/jackets in red or navy blue may be purchased from Creative Logo Solutions, Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniforms and may be worn on non-chapel days in the classroom.  *NCA Logo refers to the compass logo, NCA initials or Gator Athletics Screen printing.

Length of ///jumpers/free dress outfits is as follows: From the hem of the garment to the center of the back of the knee, must not exceed 3 inches. This is the minimum length allowed. Garments may be longer if desired. Middle school girls can only wear the Tom- my Hilfiger or Dennis specific specified by NCA. No other skirts will be allowed this year. All uniforms and non-uniform (PE and free dress included) must comply with length requirements. Creative Logo Solutions frequently sells PE uniforms in our lobby before school or after school. Dates and times will be posted on our website.

PRICES NCA has found vendors that have quality products for good prices. Thus, price adjustments and increases are not made by NCA. RIGHT TO AMEND NCA has the right to amend the uniform code at any time with or without notice. NCA has the right to de- termine whether or not a item(s) meets our code or the mission of our school. PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD’S CLOTHING

We strongly recommend that you label your children’s clothing. Unlabeled items are taken to a local charity at the end of every month. Creative Logo Solutions offers monogramming for NCA sweatshirts which is recommended. Dennis Uniforms sells labels that are ideal for labeling all your children’s outer clothing items, backpacks, water bottles and lunch boxes. You may also use a sharpie to write clearly on the inside of all clothing items. DRESS CODE COMPLIANCE Every student is given a two week grace period at the beginning of each school year. There are no consequences if a child is out of dress code for the first two weeks of school. Please refer to the Family Handbook or your child’s homeroom handbook for consequences for being out of dress code after the grace period is over. UNIFORM COORDINATORS

Chapel Uniform: Chapel Uniform must be worn on chapel day. May also be worn as an everyday choice.  Blue, red, or white polo shirt. Optional Shirt from approved vendors. T-shirts worn under chapel shirts must be of solid white with no logos, pictures or words. Optional ties for 8th grade boys only with white dress shirt.  Tan-khaki or navy blue pants (no shorts). Pants and shirts should be ironed.  Optional NCA cardigan, or vest with NCA initials (Colors: Navy blue or red) (only through Dennis Uniform or Tommy Hilfiger)  All NCA approved sweatshirts may be worn in chapel. PE Uniform: All PE Uniforms are available for purchase through Creative Logo Solutions  P.E. t-shorts with NCA logo  Sweatpants, warm-up pants or athletic shorts. (All pants/short may have thin, white vertical stripes on left/right side of pants. No let- ters or numbers on pants. 1-inch manufacturer’s name/emblem OK). (Color: Navy Blue)  Optional sweatshirt with NCA logo. *If name is put on the back, it must only be the student’s legal name  Athletic shoes and socks must be worn on PE days.  Regular everyday uniform attire may also be worn on PE days. Athletic shoes and socks are required.  Official NCA athletics/activities sweatpants or t-shirt may be worn on P.E. days only. (NO Yoga Pants) Everyday Uniform Choices:  Pants, or hemmed walking shorts. (Colors; tan/khaki or navy blue)  Polo shirt (Colors: navy blue, red or white).  NCA cardigan/vest with NCA initials or NCA Fleece front zipper vest with NCA logo (Colors: navy blue, or red).  PE Sweatshirt with NCA logo (only available from Creative Logo Solutions). Dress Up Days: Middle School students have their own dress up days. These do not necessarily coincide with grades K-5. Free Dress Day: Second Friday of each month. Jeans without holes are permissible. Walk-A-Thon Shirt Day: Fourth Friday of each month. WAT shirt must be worn as your top shirt and must be from most recent WAT. Any pants acceptable on free dress days, may be worn with walk-a thon shirt. No non-NCA attire is allowed to cover WAT. Activity shirts: dates are posted on school board.

 Simple jewelry, watch and or necklace may be worn. Accessories  Boys must not wear earrings at school. No body piercing or permanent tattoos are permitted.

Hair/Hats and  Baseball caps/hats or sunglasses must not be worn in the building. Hats may be worn on free dress day inside, except in classroom.  Hair must be neat and only in natural tone. Hair must not cover the eyes. Hair must be no longer than the bottom of the collar above Sunglasses the eyebrows..  No flip-flops or slippers. Shoes must be worn at all times. Footwear  Birks are allowed. Slides are not allowed. Free Dress  Free dress days: appropriate, modest clothing. No tight or sagging pants/shorts. No extremes.  On chapel days, the NCA cardigan or vest with NCA initials or NCA approved sweatshirts may be worn for warmth. No other outer- wear may be worn in chapel.  Classroom approved outerwear - (may be worn every day of the week in class) PE sweatshirts, NCA Sports Wear, NCA fleece vest Outerwear and NCA cardigan vest/sweaters.  Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniform sell coats, sweater and jackets ect. with the NCA logo that are approved to wear in the class- room. Coats and other Non-NCA outerwear may not be worn in the classroom. Dress Shirts  Dress Shirts are optional. Must be purchased from Tommy Hilfiger or Dennis Uniform. Pants/Shorts  No tight or sagging pants/shorts. No skinny pants, which are fitted all the way to the ankle.  Length of shorts as follow: Measuring from the middle of the back of the knee, clothing must not be any shorter than 3 inches above Length Criteria the knee. This is the minimum length allowed. Garments may be longer.  All uniform and non-uniform (PE and free dress included) must comply with length /modesty requirements.
