PLAYER OF THE WEEK HUSSEIN ABDELMAKSOUD • Rutgers-Newark Sophomore • Center • West New York, NJ/Memorial Abdelmaksoud becomes the second different Scarlet Raider to earn NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging a double-double 18.5 points and 17.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week of conference play for Rutgers-Newark. He opened the week with a double-double that included career-highs of 29 points and 18 rebounds in a 70-62 NJAC road defeat at Ramapo. Three days later, he wrapped up the regular season with eight points and 17 rebounds in a 66-48 NJAC vic- tory over rival Montclair State. His 18- performance against Ramapo marked the second most boards collected by a NJAC player in a game this season. Abdelmaksoud, who shot .625 (15-of-24) in the two games combined, currently is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game in 16 contests played for Rutgers-Newark.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WOODY REDDING • Rutgers University-Camden Freshman • Guard • Philadelphia, PA/Northeast Catholic Redding earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth consecutive week after averaging 19.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in three contests played for Rutgers-Camden. He opened the week with 20 points, including 11-of-12 shooting from the line, while adding five steals in a 75-60 non-conference road defeat at Valley Forge Christian. Two days later, he scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field, while adding two rebounds and two assists in an 84-75 NJAC road win at rival Rowan. He wrapped up the year by notching a team- high 16 points, along with three rebounds and three assists in a 65-61 NJAC overtime defeat to Kean. In just 14 games played for the Scarlet Raptors, Redding finished his freshman season as his team’s leader in scoring (10.6 points per game), steals (31), and assists (43).
