Cheerleading Last Thursday our Cheerleading team competed at the School's Cheerleading competition at

Success High School. Miss Iles took a fantastic team of girls who have been practising and working really hard for this competition. They performed amazingly and came first winning their category! Miss Iles was so proud of their attitude, their determination and of course, the result. They were an absolute credit to the school and have improved so much since they started practising. A perfect example of our Ethos - belong, grow, succeed. Well done and good luck to the team who are now through to the West Youth Games in July!

BGS Mock EU This week our staff have been talking with their classes about the EU debate. Miss Shah provided Referendum resources from First News, a newspaper aimed at children and teenagers to give students more information about the leave and remain campaigns. Bingley Grammar School voted to remain in the EU with 72% voting to remain and 28% to leave. The whole purpose of our mock referendum was to engage young people with politics and give them an understanding of issues that will affect them in the future. We also hope to encourage students to use their democratic right to vote when they are 18. Miss Shah would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and to staff who assisted with the ballot. Dental Health toothbrushes. These went down very well with the toddlers who practised lots of brushing! Many thanks to Annette for organising the resources & display.

Yr 10 Business Year 10 Business students were a credit to school when they recently made a fact finding trip into Bingley

Studies town centre. On a mission to gather primary research data to support their GCSE Business controlled assessment, they independently approached local small business owners in order to interview them and their customers, in addition to other data collection. They now go on to collate secondary data, using all their research to then produce their controlled assessment write-up which will be worth up to 25% of their final grade. Well done all!

Yr 10 GCSE Letters regarding this compulsory activity/trip to have gone out to all students. Consent forms and

Geography payment to the finance office by Thursday 30th June please! Any queries please contact Miss Wales.
