The idea behind it is to support Raines Road family members or friends caring for their Castleberg Hospital Giggleswick loved one to continue to do this whilst in Raines Road Settle hospital by allowing access to flexible visiting Giggleswick and when required, staying overnight with a Settle loved one. We also regularly ask carers of people with dementia to tell us about their experiences using our dementia carers’ survey.
We have a ‘Frail Elderly Pathway’ team who specifically work with older people to facilitate the discharge process. This includes patients with dementia and their carers.
The Trust is signed up to the Bradford Dementia Action Alliance Group and supports the Butterfly Scheme in the hospital which is a care plan document.
Twiddlemuff distraction therapy products are also available for patients on our wards.
