Christ behind me, Christ before me.

Offertory: The Lord Is My Shepherd—Howard Goodall

The Lord is my Shepherd, I’ll not want; He maketh me down to lie in green pastures, He leadeth me beside the still waters. Yea though I walk through th valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for you are with me, you will comfort me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will’t dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

JEREMY KIOLBASSA, DIRECTOR Jeremy Kiolbassa has served as the director of Music for St. Bene- dict Parish since 2013, and as of this year also serves as director of liturgy. His Fascination with sacred music the organ began in his formative years at St. Hyacinth Catholic School in Chicago. In childhood he demonstrated a natural ability to play by ear, and his abilities developed without formal training into adolescence, teaching himself to read music while continuing to play by ear and improvise. His formal musical training began relatively late as he attended Whitney Young High School in Chicago. While refining his keyboard technique, he also gained a great love for choral repertoire during this time, singing in under the baton of two great conductors, Scott Arkenberg and Brown. He went on to attend VanderCook College of Music to study music education, wher he studied applied piano performance in the studio of Ms. Marianne Krupa. He had the privilege of studying with Dr. Elizabeth Naegele at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for just over 3 years. His ear and natural ability have manifested a love for im- provisation and composition. Under Jeremy’s direction, the music program at St. Benedict Parish has flourished and has become an integral part of the parish’s identity.
