1.05 MANUFACTURER CRITERIA

A. Manufacturer shall offer a program that provides extensive training and installation certification.

1.06 SUSTAINABILITY CRITERIA

A. Total recycled content shall be greater than 50% combining both post_consumer and pre_consumer recycled content. B. All metal components shall be 100% recyclable.

C. All materials shall be free of hexavalent chrome, CFC's, and PDBE's.

D. Adhesives used shall be solvent free and free of any hazardous air pollutants.

E. Metal parts shall be powder coat, high solid or e‐coat and finished with a durable VOC_free finish which is applied in a process that generates low levels of recyclable waste.

F. Chrome used shall be trivalent only.

G. Product shall be GREENGUARD Children and Schools Certified as low emitting furniture meeting LEED requirements of IEQ 4.5 Low Emitting Furniture.

H. Product shall be GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified as low emitting furniture meeting LEED requirements of IEQ 4.5 Low Emitting Furniture.

1.07 SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's detailed materials and fabrication specifications and installation instructions. Include catalog cuts of hardware, fastenings and other data as required.

B. Samples: Submit samples of each required finish and color for initial selection.

C. 3D Image of each type/layout of workstation shall be provided

1.08 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications: All primary products specified in this section will be supplied by a single manufacturer with a minimum of ten (10) years experience.

B. Installer Qualifications: All products listed in this section are to be installed by a trained and certified installer.

1.09 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Deliver systems furniture cartoned or crated to provide protection during transit and job storage.

B. Inspect system furniture upon delivery for damage. Minor damages may be repaired, provided finish items are equal to new work and acceptable to Architect. Remove and replace damaged items as directed.

C. Store system furniture on raised platforms in vertical positions with blocking between units to allow air circulation. Keep stored material covered and protected from damage.

1.010 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.011 WARRANTY

A. At project closeout, provide to Owner, or Owner's Representative, an executed copy of the manufacturer's standard limited warranty against manufacturing defect, outlining its terms, conditions, and exclusions from coverage.

1. Duration: One (1) Year from date of installation.

B. The manufacturer shall provide a limited lifetime warranty for all products except products, components and materials described below:

1. Provide 12_year warranty on or wood framed products including their mechanisms.

2. Provide 10_year warranty on electrical components(excluding Power Base™ AI and workware™ products), electrical accessories, fixed task lighting, LED lighting, adjustable keyboard pads, monitor arms and products that are at any time used in a classroom or educational environment (other than administrative areas), except products listed below:

3. Provide 5‐year warranty on electronic ballast used in tasklighting, and systems accessories.

4. Provide 3_year warranty on plastic ultraviolet light color fastness; fabrics rated (a) heavy duty under the Association of Contract Textiles guidelines.

5. Provide 1 _ 5 year warranty on products that are manufactured outside North America and sold into the North American market.

a. The product specific Applicable Warranty Period is identified in individual price list publications.

6. Provide 1‐year warranty on soft palm rest, mouse pad insert and translucent edging.

1.012 ATTIC STOCK

A. Furnish items in original packaging clearly labeled with part number and description. Store in location designated by the Owner or Owner's representative.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.01 MANUFACTURERS

A. Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 012500, Substitution Procedures.

2.02 MANUFACTURED UNITS A. Basis of Design: Haworth Beside Storage, Reside Desking.

B. Product shall have a UL183 Manufactured Wiring System and UL1286 Office Furnishing listed power system attached to a UL1286 listed Desking and Storage System.

C. All products shall be compliant with applicable requirements from ANSI/BIFMA X5.9‐ 2004 or 2012 Storage Unit tests.

D. Storage & workstation tops shall be nominal 1‐3/16", 30.2mm thick, warp resistant construction. Top surface shall be a minimum of 0.027”, 0.8mm thick high‐pressure laminate meeting NEMA LD‐3 standards and the bottom surface, 0.027”, 0.8mm thick backing sheet. Laminate and backing sheet shall be permanently bonded to wood composite core. The core shall be of a balanced construction between a laminate or veneer top and a backer sheet.

E. Worksurfaces shall be available in depths of 24", 30" and 36"

F. Storage & worksurface tops shall be offered in or high‐pressure laminate.

G. Storage & worksurface tops shall be standard core.

1. Standard core: Engineered composite made with 90% wood fiber content with at least 10% post consumer and 80% pre‐consumer wood fiber bonded with resin. These tops are compliant with GREENGUARD® and ANSI/BIFMA Standards for Low Emitting products. The composite panel is compliant with California Air Resource Board requirements for Phase 2 formaldehyde emission levels.

H. Laminate covering: High Pressure Laminate

1. 0.118”, 3mm radius edgeband.

2. 0.118”, 3mm radius edgeband on user edge, 0.039”, 1mm edgeband on remaining edges.

I. End Panel: Storage unit end panels shall be nominal 0.750", 19mm thick warp resistant construction. Center core shall be 0.687", 17mm thick wood composite core sandwiched between two laminate skins. The front and back surface shall be minimum of 0.027", 0.76mm thick high_pressure laminate meeting NEMA LD‐3 standards.

J. Base Unit: Base Unit shall be of mixed material. Base unit will have 20 steel front and inner back panel. Fixed shelf on base unit shall be of 22 gauge steel. Laminate end panels and inner tops shall be of a nominal .750”, 19mm thick warp‐resistant construction. Fronts shall be of a nominal .750”, 19mm thick warp‐resistant construction. Center core shall be .687”, 17mm thick wood composite core sandwiched between two laminate skins.

K. Overheads: Wood Overhead Storage Unit (OSU) to be constructed of a nominal .750”, 19mm thick warp‐resistant laminate construction or .728”, 18mm thick warp‐resistant veneer construction on sides, top, bottom and back. The wood composite overall thickness contains 100% recycled wood fibers. Inner and outer surfaces shall be a minimum of 0.027”, 0.76mm thick high pressure plastic laminate or a minimum of 0.020”, 0.51mm thick veneer skins.

L. Stanchions: Shall consist of 16 gauge end and center supports; 13 gauge horizontal extensions with optional integrated accessory slots. Stanchions can support hutch shelf or Beside overheads.

M. Hutch Shelves: Shall consist of 0.75”, 19mm thick wood composite shelf available with laminate and wood veneer faces and 1mm edgeband. Pilot holes pre‐drilled to allow stanchion mounting.

N. Power and Communications: Base units shall have cutouts on bottom shelf behind inner back to allow for routing of electrical components and data wires. Cutouts shall be 1.5”, 38mm x 4”, 102mm. Base unit shall have a spacer with cutout to bring electrical and communications from the storage unit to the user specified location on worksurface. Vertical and horizontal power taps with three receptacles can be mounted on base unit in various locations. The storage product line shall have the ability to route and access power without the use of a panel or wall application.

2.04 DESKS

A. Desking and Benching Support: Legs shall be available in seven types consisting of Straight Fixed, StraightAdjustable, Angled Fixed, Angled Adjustable, Intermediate Fixed, Intermediate Adjustable and Hoop Adjustable. Legs shall be aluminum extrusions connected to a die cast aluminum end piece that integrate with aluminum end castings attached to 1 3/16” thick work tops. The legs shall attach to the casting with threaded fasteners. End castings shall allow an additional center casting that integrates two tops allowing back to back desking spans of 51”, 63” and 75”, and provides a 3.4” gap between the tops for access and routing of power and communications in a separately specified steel utility tray. A prewired power distribution system shall be available that attaches inside the utility tray. The 3.4” gap also provides space for attaching screens and rails. 1.4” x 1.4” x 13 guage (.095”, 2.41mm) steel tubes shall fasten to the casting with metal plates attached with threaded fasteners and allow work surface spans up to 96” with minimal deflection. Castings, steel tubes and legs shall be powder coated. Shared metal support columns with removable covers shall be available that allow inset legs for increased knee space clearance and provide openings to route power and communication from the floor.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.02 PREPARATION

A. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.03 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Adjust hardware and leave in proper condition.

3.04 PROTECTION

A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

B. Touch_up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
