To Show Exhibitors And Visitors The Show Committee will hold the 2018 Show on the site at Cefn-y-dre Fields, Cefn Road, Fishguard, a site covering nearly 30 acres, with ample room for cattle and horse exhibitors. The site can be easily reached from the A40 by taking the first right turn in Fishguard beyond the main square, or from the Cardigan Road by turning left at Fishguard just before the main square. Signs will be erected as guidance. (Also ample parking space).

- 4 - RULES 1 (a) The Club shall consist of a President, President Elect, Horticulture Secretary and Treasurer, Dog Show Secretary and Treasurer, Vice-Presidents, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Ordinary Members. (b) A donation of £16.00 or more to the Prize Fund shall be a qualification for a Vice-President (c) The President, President Elect, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretaries shall be elected annually and where more than one person is nominated for the same office the election shall be made by means of ballot (d) The Club may elect (subject to nominations being made 1 week prior to AGM) Honorary Life Vice-Presidents, or reward work of outstanding merit with other marks of recognition, subject to confirmation at the A.G.M. by a majority of not less than two-thirds. (e) Every Ordinary Member of the Club will be a subscriber of not less than £8.00 annually except in the case of bona fide farmers’ immediate family living with their parents who are members of the Club, when the subscription shall be one of £7.00. (f) A Committee of not less than twelve members shall be elected annually, not less than three to constitute a quorum, to manage the affairs of the Club in accordance with the rules. 2 (a) The objects of the Club are: (i) To hold an annual agricultural show open to members and non-members. (ii) To arrange lectures and discussions on subjects of interest and importance to the agricultural community. (iii) To engage in any other activities which, in the opinion of the Committee, are for the improvement and encouragement of agriculture in general. (b) All income of the Club, including investment income, shall be applied exclusively in connection with the objectives set out in these rules. 3 (a) All members are required to pay their annual subscriptions into the hands of the Treasurer or Secretary on or before the day of the Show and shall be admitted to the Show free of charge. (b) A list of Vice-Presidents, Members and Rules of the Club shall be published annually and inserted in the Catalogue each year. A balance sheet is to be printed and published annually. 4 All exhibits and stock shown are to be bona fide property of the person entering the same, and to have been his/her property for at least one calendar month prior to the day of the Show, and in the case of exhibits and stock jointly owned by two or more persons such exhibits and stock shall be entered in the joint names and any points or prizes awarded to such joint owners shall not be aggregated to the points or prizes of any one such joint owner individually. In case of any query as to actual ownership the Committee shall be at liberty to require proof of ownership, and failing satisfactory proof (as to which the decision of the Committee shall be final) the Committee shall be at liberty to withhold prizes or the award of points and may withdraw any prizes or points already awarded - this being at the absolute discretion of the Committee. 5 Every owner of stock shown shall when required give the Secretary a written declaration specifying the date of birth of the stock. 6 Exhibits in the Cattle Classes will be confined to Attested and Accredited Herds. 7 The Committee reserve the right to cancel classes should there be only one exhibitor in the section. 8 All sheep shall be fairly shorn and shall not be dressed with any oily matter. 9 An Exhibitor showing animals having a distinguishing mark, name or initial attached to them (other than those used by the Society) shall be disqualified from receiving any prizes in that class. This rule does not apply to cattle and sheep and to champion and tradesmen’s turnouts in their special dasses. 10 The Committee shall appoint one or more competent persons as judges of Livestock, who, to preclude all suspicions of partiality shall without knowledge as to the names of the owners, determine the premiums for Stock by reference to the numbers prefixed to each by the Stewards, having regard to symmetry, size, early maturity and qualities characteristic of the different breeds and making due for age, feeding and circumstances peculiar to each. 11 The Judges be desired in determining premiums always to mention which animal is second best, and whether it is worthy of a premium in cases of disqualification of the first. 12 Only at the request of the Judges, or where an objection is entered as required in Rule 20, shall that animal specified by the Judges, or against which the objection is entered, be required to pass under the standard at the height mentioned in the class for which the horse is entered 13 Judges must not knowingly adjudicate in a class if he owns or has owned, bred, sold, leased, loaned, produced or received financial gain from an exhibit in that class.

- 5 - 14 No judge shall judge animals owned or produced by a person who has purchased animals from or sold animals to since 1st January in the current year. 15 No official of the Club, while in charge of an animal competing in the Show, shall wear any rosette or ribbon when he enters the Judging ring, and no Steward shall exhibit in the classes where he acts as a Steward. 16 Should any contrivance or device of any description be found on or proved to have been used on a Cow or Heifer at any time after arrival at the Show - either for preventing or influencing abnormally the flow of milk, listering, or bandaging and/or boarding of udders, the setting of teats or for any other purpose, the Committee at their absolute discretion shall have the power to disqualify the Cow or Heifer so concerned from any award or trophy at the Show and may prohibit the owner of such Cow or Heifer from exhibiting at future shows. The Committee reserves the right to have all Cows and Heifers inspected by persons nominated by them, either prior to, during, or after judging. 17 On arrival at the Show, all exhibits in the Cattle, Sheep and Pig Classes are to be tied or penned as the case may be, in the appropriate section of the ground set aside for the particular breed or class and are not to remain inside the transport vehicles. Exhibits are to remain tied or penned until after the Grand Parade. This rule may be waived by the Chief Steward, at his absolute discretion, if conditions warrant such waiver. Failure to comply with this Rule can result in forfeiture of prize money. 18 No Class shall be held up by late exhibitors. 19 All prizewinners must take part in the Grand Parade. Any Exhibitor disregarding this Rule shall forfeit prize money. 20 All objections must be made in writing, and handed to the Secretary within 1 hour of the end of the Class and any persons lodging an objection must deposit £5.00 with the Secretary, which sum will be forfeited if the objection is found to be frivolous, and all objections and questions of dispute shall be referred to the Committee whose decision shall be final, and from which there shall be no appeal, legal or otherwise. 21 A candidate for a premium being detected in any attempt to defraud the Society or interfere with the Judges, shall not receive such premium and may be expelled at the option of the Committee. 22 The Committee shall be empowered to award or withhold each or any of the premiums. 23 The Financial Year of the Club shall end on September 30th. 24 The Annual General Meeting shall be held in November in every year 25 No rule shall be altered or New rules made unless 14 days notice in writing be given before the first day of November in any year to the Secretary. 26 No Rule shall be altered except at the Annual General Meeting. 27 Any entry for the North Pembrokeshire Farmers Club Annual Show may be refused at the discretion of the Committee. 28 The Committee hold the right to cancel the Show at short notice in the advent of adverse weather or other circumstances.

For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards.
