Blwyddyn / Year Adroddiad Blynyddol / Annual Report 1957-58 Disgrifiad / Description A group of notebooks and papers most of them relating to the brigantine Dreadnought (94 feet and 146 tons) built at New Quay, Cardiganshire, in 1866. It includes fourteen bills of sale of shares in the Dreadnought to Captain David Davies of New Quay, 1871-88; ninety bundles of vouchers and miscellaneous papers relating to the voyages of the vessel, 1866-86, from various British ports to Gibraltar, Palermo, Antwerp, Smyrna, Rotterdam, Taranto, Cadiz, Naples, Lisbon, and other continental ports and to St. John's and Harbour Grace in Newfoundland with cargoes of coal, iron, oil, salt, etc.; an account book of payments to her crew, 1866-9; and a declaration by her captain and members of her crew before a notary public at St. John's, Newfoundland, describing how she grounded and became a total wreck off the Newfoundland coast in 1888. Also included in the collection are bills of sale of shares in the vessels Mary Jane (1858 and 1863), Agnes Cairn (1881), Sea Foam (1892), and Argo (1862); five share certificates in the New Quay Harbour Company (1837); a balance sheet relating to the building of the New Quay Patent Slip (1863-7); one bundle of vouchers relating to the barque Dilpussund (1892-3); one bundle of vouchers relating to the Spark (1891); an account book of payments to the crew of the Maria (1858-65); a cargo book of [?] the Maria (1861-3); an account book of stores bought for [?] the Maria and of wear and tear to [?] the same vessel (1861-5); and an account book in respect of the building of a new vessel at Traethgwyn, New Quay (1864-7).     NEWS RELEASE Issued by the Telephone 02920 395031 Boundary Commission for Wales Caradog House Fax 02920 395250 1-6 St Andrews Place Cardiff CF10 3BE Date 25 August 2004 FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCIES IN THE PRESERVED COUNTY OF DYFED The Commission propose to make no change to their provisional recommendations for five constituencies in the preserved county of Dyfed. 1. Provisional recommendations in respect of Dyfed were published on 5 January 2004. The Commission received eleven representations, five of which were in support of their provisional recommendations. Three of the representations objected to the inclusion of the whole of the Cynwyl Elfed electoral division within the Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire constituency, one objected to the name of the Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire constituency and one suggested the existing arrangements for the area be retained. 2. The Commission noted that, having received no representation of the kind mentioned in section 6 (2) of the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986, there was no statutory requirement to hold a local inquiry. The Commission further decided that in all the circumstances they would not exercise their discretion under section 6 (1) to hold an inquiry. Final recommendations 3. The main objection to the provisional recommendations was in respect of the inclusion of the Cynwyl Elfed electoral division in the Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire constituency. It was argued that the division should be included in Carmarthen East and Dinefwr on the grounds that the majority of the electorate in the division fell within that constituency and that inclusion in Carmarthen East and Dinefwr rather than Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire would reduce the disparity between the electorates of the two constituencies and would bring them closer to the electoral quota.

The Welsh Ministers have decided to give effect to those proposals with modifications. More than six weeks have elapsed since those proposals were submitted to the Welsh Ministers. The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 58(2) and 67(5) of the Local Government Act 1972 and now vested in them(2). Sustainable Development 1.1 The Carmarthenshire Well-being Assessment (March 2017) looked at the economic, social, environmental and cultural wellbeing in Carmarthenshire through different life stages and provides a summary of the key findings. The findings of this assessment form the basis of the objectives and actions identified in the Draft Well-being Plan for Carmarthenshire. It also shows how we have applied the 5 ways of working under the Well-being of Future Generations Act in our work and acts as our annual equality report (see Objective 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.) We would like to thank staff, Members, volunteers, partners and communities within and beyond the Park for helping us deliver activities highlighted in this document. During this period the Well-being Plan for Pembrokeshire was being drafted and this Plan will influence future work of the Authority. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Pembrokeshire Coast National Park was designated in 1952 under the National Park and Access to the Countryside Act 1949. The National Park covers an area of 612km2, with approximately 23,000 people living in some 50 community council areas. Most of the National Park is in private ownership with the Authority owning only about 1%. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority was created as a free standing special purpose local authority under the 1995 Environment Act (the Act). The Authority consists of 18 Members, 12 nominated by Pembrokeshire County Council and six appointed by the Welsh Government. Park Purposes and the National Park Management Plan The Environment Act 1995 specifies that the Purposes of a National Park Authority are To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the park area To promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the area by the public.
