It includes fourteen bills of sale of shares in the Dreadnought to Captain David Davies of New Quay, 1871-88; ninety bundles of vouchers and miscellaneous papers relating to the voyages of the vessel, 1866-86, from various British ports to Gibraltar, Palermo, Antwerp, Smyrna, Rotterdam, Taranto, Cadiz, Naples, Lisbon, and other continental ports and to St. John's and Harbour Grace in Newfoundland with cargoes of coal, iron, oil, salt, etc.; an account book of payments to her crew, 1866-9; and a declaration by her captain and members of her crew before a notary public at St. John's, Newfoundland, describing how she grounded and became a total wreck off the Newfoundland coast in 1888. Blwyddyn / Year Adroddiad Blynyddol / Annual Report 1957-58 Disgrifiad / Description Over 120 volumes of printed books, a large number of which are fine examples of the products of early continental and English presses (Dept of Printed Books). Mr. Llewellin-Taylour has again generously added to the Library's collection of incunabula with copies of Duranti's Rationale divinorum officiorum (Venice, 1485) and Sidonius's Epistolae et poemata (Milan, 1498). A group of Elzevirs and a number of interesting sixteenth and seventeenth century editions of the works of Erasmus, Melanchthon, Henri Estienne (the second), Drexelius, and Hugo de Groot are valuable additions to the already extensive list of scholarly antiquarian books which Mr. LlewellinTaylour has presented over many years. Other works include twenty-five volumes of The Historical Register covering 1714-38, two finely-bound sets of five volumes each of Frances Burney's Camilla (1796) and Cecilia (1782) and her Diary and Letters . . . (1778-1840) edited in six volumes by Charlotte Barrett (London, 1904-5), Powel's Historie of Cambria (1584), and a well-presened copy of the 1620 edition of the Welsh Bible.
