Smith, longest serving Arkansas Justice, noted for incisive judgements, outrageous practical jokes

George Rose Smith was praised as “an example of what a judge ought to be” by one legal scholar. In his 37 years on the Arkansas Supreme Court, he never failed to make an impact KENNETH bRIDGES or earn the respect of his History peers.
