GLENNS’ SCHOOL OF DANCE DRESS CODE (Dancers may only participate if dressed properly – please no dance costumes in class)

CHILDREN’S LEVEL: Dancers in 1st grade and younger o HAIR: for all classes, hair should be neatly pulled back off the face in a ponytail or similar style (for ballet, a bun is preferred) o BALLET: pink tights, any style/color leotard with or without a skirt, pink leather full sole ballet shoes in any brand o TAP: flat (not patent leather) black mary jane style shoes with buckle or Velcro closure, any tights, and any style/color leotard with or without dance shorts or a skirt o JAZZ: black lace up style jazz shoes, any tights, and any style/color leotard with or without dance shorts or a skirt

*Please note, for the recital, all dancers in the Children’s Show will wear Bloch brand tights in Pink for all numbers, available at discountdance.com

UPPER LEVEL: Dancers in 2nd grade and up o HAIR: for all classes, hair should be neatly pulled back off the face in a ponytail or similar style (for ballet, a bun or twist is REQUIRED) o BALLET: pink tights (Bloch pink for Shows), black leotard for all Cecchetti exam classes, any style/color leotard for non-exam classes, pink canvas split-sole ballet shoes with elastics sewn into an “X” across the top of the foot o TAP FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS: flat (not patent leather) black mary jane style shoes with buckle or Velcro closure, any tights, and any style/color leotard with or without dance shorts o TAP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL AND APPRENTICE DANCERS: Black lace up style oxford shoes with appropriate work-out type clothing o 2nd GRADE AND UP JAZZ & 2nd-8th GRADE LYRICAL CLASSES: Capezio caramel gore boots with any tights or bare legs, dance top or leotard with dance shorts or dance pants - Capezio caramel tights for the June Show o APPRENTICE AND COMPETITION JAZZ CLASSES: Capezio caramel pedinis, with any tights or bare legs (Capezio caramel tights for Shows), dance top or leotard with dance shorts o APPRENTICE LYRICAL CLASSES: same as jazz o COMPETITION & HIGH SCHOOL LYRICAL CLASSES: bare feet with bare legs, dance top or leotard with dance shorts or dance pants o HIPHOP: Appropriate work-out type clothing with sneakers that are free from dirt
