Elite Dance Academy Dress Code
A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teachers, and the art of dance. Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc. Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance, and any types of jewelry (with the exception of small studs) will not be not permitted.
No loose fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts (they are not dance attire).
No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the individual teacher.
Wee/Tiny/Petite/Youth Combo Levels
Girls: Any color leotard and tights, pink leather ballet shoes, tan tap shoes; dance skirts are allowed.
Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black leather ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
NO BARE LEGS and LONG HAIR MUST BE SECURELY TIED UP – Ponytails are allowed.
Classical Ballet
Pre-Teen/Teen: Any black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Short dance skirts are permitted occasionally.
Elite Levels: Any black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Short dance skirts are permitted occasionally.
Men/Boys: Black tights or dance pants, black or white solid color T-shirt, and black ballet slippers.
NO BARE LEGS and HAIR MUST BE IN A BUN - No Ponytails! Hip Hop Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black jazz shoes or black jazz sneakers.
Men/Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes or black jazz sneakers.
NO BARE LEGS and LONG HAIR MUST BE SECURELY TIED UP – Ponytails are allowed. No Bare Midriffs. Blue jeans are not allowed. Jazz/Acro Pre-Teen/Teen: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes.
Elite Levels: Black leotard, black or pink tights or jazz pants/shorts, black jazz shoes.
Men/Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, and black jazz shoes.
NO BARE LEGS and LONG HAIR MUST BE SECURELY TIED UP – Ponytails are allowed. Jazz Sneakers are not allowed for the recital. No Bare Midriffs. Contemporary Girls: Any solid color leotard and footless or transitional tights. Jazz pants/dance skirts/dance shorts are allowed.
Men/Boys: Black tights or dance pants, black or white solid color T-shirt.
NO BARE LEGS and LONG HAIR MUST BE SECURELY TIED UP – Ponytails are allowed. No Bare Midriffs. Students dance in bare feet. Tap Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black or tan tap shoes, dance shorts are allowed.
Men/Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black tap shoes.
