MATERIALS  Lion Brand® Shawl in a Ball® (Art. #828) . 208 Mellow Muse 1 ball  Lion Brand® knitting needles size 10 (6 mm)  Lion Brand® large-eyed blunt needle

GAUGE 15 sts = about 4 in. (10cm) in Garter st (knit every st on every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

STITCH EXPLANATION M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between the needles and placing it onto the left hand needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop – 1 st increased.

NOTE Shawl is worked in one piece in Garter st (knit every st on every row).

SHAWL Cast on 7 sts. Row 1: K6, M1, k1 – you will have 8 sts at the end of this row. Row 2: K2, M1, k4, k2togtbl. Row 3: Knit to last st, M1, k1 – 9 sts. Row 4: K2, M1, k to last 2 sts, k2togtbl. Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until you have a total of 134 sts, or until you have approximately 5 yds. (4.5 m) of yarn remaining.

Bind off loosely.

FINISHING Blocking Dampen Shawl thoroughly. Spread a towel onto a flat surface, then lay Shawl onto towel and smooth into shape. Gently shape Shawl to match finished measurements. Use blocking wires if desired to further shape Shawl. Allow to air dry.

Weave in ends.
