This scarf is made up of crocheted round medallionssewed together at angles. The two ends of the scarf are the same and joined together by 3 medallions. I made all of the medallions first and then sewed them together. I found that this was easier as a means of constructionwhen it came time to block it as I blocked it in stages. This pattern combines basic techniques with crochet techniques to create tight uniform medallions.

Materials

4 skeins Be Sweet Bambino,I used Lime, Slate, Black, and Clouds F/3.7Smmcrochet hook needle (one that can hook into the crochet stitches) Gauge2 rows=I" in double crochet Large Medallionmeasures 4 +" diameter Medium Medallionmeasures 3 +" diameter Small Medallionmeasures 2 +" diameter Extra Small Medallionmeasures I +" diameter

ALL ROUNDS WORKED THROUGH BOTH LOOPS Directions

NOTE: Increasingis done by doing 3 dc in a stitch as described below, but beginningon Round 4 decreasingis done by doins Zdc in a stitch, as I found that doing 3 dc made the circles curve downward as if I was making a amigurumi project so I adjustedthe increasesto combat this.

Sew all of the circles together using the long tail, except for the small circles. did the construction in stages as it made it easier to block. Please refer to the diagram below for help with construction.

This is what my seams look like:

.a.. -'*,f' il *. 1 g.*f

I * ,fs'- a, l: r-.'',l .,,"i1'* Blocking

This scaiif was blocked in stages. All of the large, medium and small circles were sewn together and then blocked as a whole. The extra small circles were not attached and blocked separately, as these curled more than the others and this would have made it harder to sew them on. The extra small circles were then attached and it was blocked again. A garment steamer was used to block the scarf so your blocking results may be different depending upon the blocking method you use.
