The opulent, neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Hamburg was built between 1904 to 1908, thanks to donations by the prominent Laeisz merchant family. On the first floor of the foyer, you can admire a statue of famed music composer and genius, , who was born in Hamburg and has a red granite cube depicting his rise to fame. The Laeiszhalle is the permanent home to the NDR Symphony Orchestra and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg is one of the biggest theatres in Germany, has been named Theatre of the Year on several occasions.
