Monday, May 2. (B). HAMBURG This morning we take an orientation sightseeing tour of the by , to see the , the , Warehouse district, Nikolai Memorial, , the nightlife district of St. Pauli and other sights. Afternoon free. This evening we will attend a concert in the beautiful Elbphilharmonie Hall works by Beethoven and Sean Shepard conducted by Kent Nagaro. The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany. Hamburg is a major port on the river , and an important financial center for centuries. It is the of Germany’s oldest stock exchange, and Germany’s second largest , . Hamburg is also known for several theaters and a variety of music shows. Tuesday, May 3. (B). HAMBURG. This morning we take a walking tour, of the second largest city in Germany. Among the sights are; the City Hall, churches of Saint Michaels and Saint Jacob, Counting House buildings, and the Old . Afternoon is free.

Wednesday, May 4. (B). HAMBURG. Today is free to visit any of the fine arts museums nearby; the Art Gallery, Gallery of Contemporary Arts, the Bucherius Kunst Forum, of Art and Industry, amongst others. This evening we will see the opera Die Freischutz by Carl Maria von Weber at Hamburg State Opera.

Thursday, May 5. (B) HAMBURG - BERLIN This morning we drive southeast to Berlin, where we stay four nights at the super deluxe, centrally located REGENT HOTEL. Afternoon free.

Friday May 6. (B). BERLIN Morning sightseeing tour by bus to include , the Town Hall, the of the , and the Humboldt University. We drive past the Gate, for a tour of former , to see Potzdamer Platz, the newly restored parliament, the , the Hall, Palace, the shoplined Kurfurstendamm, and Emperor William Memorial Church. This evening we see the opera La Traviata by Verdi at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

Saturday May 7. (B). BERLIN This morning we walk to the with the famous Pergamum Museum, where you can visit several of the 5 museums located on this small island in the middle of River . Berlin’s Acropolis of the arts is considered unique because it illustrates the evolution of modern design over the course of the 20th century and its collection span six thousand years of the human artistic endeavor. Museum Island received UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999. Afternoon at leisure. This evening we see the opera Salome by Richard Strauss at the State Opera Unter den Linden.

Sunday May 8. (B.D). BERLIN This morning we drive northwest to Potsdam, to see San Souci, an elegant palace. We visit Cecilienhof, where Truman, Stalin, and Churchill, signed the Potsdam Agreement to divide Germany, after the Second World War. Afternoon free. This evening we will have dinner at a local gourmet restaurant.

Monday May 9. (B). BERLIN - DRESDEN This morning we drive southwest to Dresden, where we stay three nights at the super deluxe HOTEL TACHENBERGPALAIS . Afternoon free. This evening we see the opera Don Carlos by Verdi with Rene Papa in the Semperoper.

DRESDEN, splendidly situated on the of the Elbe River, known as the “ of the North” has long held an attraction for artists. Dresden has been home to , master of German poetry and drama. Who, while spending the years 1785 to 1787 here wrote the drama Don Carlos, upon which Verdi based his opera of the same name as well as the , which forms the text of Beethoven's Ninth, or Choral Symphony. Wednesday, May 11. (B.D). DRESDEN This morning we will visit the Zwinger Palace, to see the huge collection of Old Masters, from to Ruben. In the evening we have our Gala Farewell dinner at a gourmet restaurant
