People’s journeys to their places of work in Erfurt are not only especially short, but they can also often be completed by public transport – just like many other trips in the city. Trams criss-cross the city at intervals of ten minutes during the day and 20 minutes during the evening. 91 per cent of tram stops in Erfurt offer wheelchair access and 100 per cent of services run on green electricity, making this a particu- larly eco-friendly form of transport. All industrial estates and business parks are served by buses that connect them to central Erfurt, and, if there is sufficient demand, companies can request to have their own bus stop.
