TOUR 1

Bajra Sandhi Monument Jagatnata Temple

Bali Museum Discovery Shopping Mall

Denpasar City, Bajra Sandhi Monument and Kuta Beach Join a full day city tour visiting some interesting heritages in Denpasar, the capital of Bali. Visit Puputan Badung Square an urban park with a very tragic and violent history. More than 100 years ago it was the site of an enormous, bloody puputan, or mass suicide ritual. It is an interesting location to learn more about the history of the Balinese and their struggles against the Dutch colonizers. Bali Museum was established in 1932 and is located next to Puputan square. The museum has the finest collections of Balinese antiquities. The stylistic simplicity of the items in its 30 collection is of particular interest. Next to the museum is Jagatnata Temple, a Hindu place for worship. The temple is beautifully designed and full of religious and artistic ornaments. Next stop at the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Renon, a symbol of Bali’s struggle for independence once the Dutch colonizers had left the country. Your lunch will be served at local restaurant. Proceed to Kuta, the most busiest tourist town on the island. Stop will be made at Discovery Shopping Mall, the only mall with a beach- front view and luxurious, classy and vibrant style, in Kuta’s prime area. Here you may find restaurants, café, bookstores, opticians, pharmacies, amusement arcades, home accessories, jewelry and international brand outlets.

Barong Dance John Hardy Jewelry

Taman Ayun Temple Tanah Lot

Barong Dance, John Hardy Jewelry and Tanah Lot Depart in the morning to watch the Barong Dance performance in Kesiman, Denpasar. Barong is a lion-like creature and character in the mythology of Bali. He is the king of the spirits, leader of the good hosts, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in the Barong dance to represent the eternal battle between good and evil. After this beautiful spectacle, drive up to Mambal where we will visit John Hardy Jewelry Workshop. This jewelry workshop was found by Canadian designer John Hardy in 1975. He visited Bali in mid-1970s and the island’s jewelry-making traditions raised his interest. He began learning the techniques of the local artisans and then developed his first pieces by applying new design concepts to traditional Balinese techniques. Here visitors can also visit a luxury artisan handycrafted gallery. Your lunch will be served at local restaurant.Next visit is the charming Taman Ayun Temple of Mengwi Empire. Built in 1634 by a King of the Mengwi Dynasty, this impressive complex stands on an island in a river, its inner temple surrounded by a moat and is part of a network of directional temples that protect Bali from evil spirits; Taman Ayun was built as a series of garden terraces with courtyards on different levels. The entire complex was designed to symbolize the mythological home of the gods, Mount Meru, floating in the sea of eternity. An eleven-tiered meru is dedicated to the goddess Dewi Sri. Tanah Lot will be the last stop, popular and the most photographed temples on the island for good reason. Tanah Lot means "Land in the Sea" in the Balinese language. The temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century Dang Hyang Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and brought him gifts. Priest Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock, for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. This full day trip lasts till late afternoon.

It has the story of Bhima Swarga, a Hindu epic referenced from the Mahabharata, painted around the ceiling. Three Brahmana priests presided over the court and were known for their harsh and inhumane sentences. The convicts (as well as visitors today) were able to view the ceiling which depicted different punishments while they were awaiting sentencing. The paintings of Kertha Gosa are one of the outstanding examples of the Kamasan-Wayang style.

Uluwatu, Kecak Dance and Jimbaran Seafood Dinner Uluwatu Temple is a famous cliff-hanging temple that clings to the southernmost tip of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula. With sheer cliff faces falling 70m directly onto the pounding surf of the Indian Ocean, the dramatic surroundings of this temple are only heightened at sunset by the nightly Kecak dance performance. Uluwatu Temple dates back to the 11th century and is situated at the Island’s end to protect it from evil spirits. Made from black coral rock, the tiered shape of the sea temple has a dramatic contrast against its precarious location and creates the most amazing silhouette at sunset. Access to the inner temple is for Hindu worshippers only, and you’ll need to dress in respectful attire when you visit. Another unusual attribute of Uluwatu Temple is its animal inhabitants. The grounds of the temple are home to a troop of mischievous monkeys and warning signs abound to ensure you keep your belongings safe and away from swift simian hands. But really, this site is all about the view. Sunset is best admired from two vantage points to the north and south of the temple. The Kecak or monkey dance is also performed nightly between 6 and 7pm at the temple courtyard. From Uluwatu we drive to Jimbaran Beach for dinner. Enjoy fresh seafood from the catch of the day such as fish, prawns, crabs, squid and mussels. All grilled seafood is served with rice, vegetables and special Balinese sauces.
