Manhattan Offi ce Market In February 2016, the Manhattan Class A direct vacancy rate rose to 8.4% from 8.3% one month prior, while the average rental rate fell from $81 to $80 during this same time. The Midtown South Class A sublease vacancy rate fell from 0.9% in January to 0.2% in February, while the direct vacancy rate held steady at 3.1%. Similarly, the share of men aged 26-45 with a high school education or less is 11 percentage points higher than women in the same age group. Refl ecting higher rates of college attendance, women under 30 who are not married, have no children, and work full-time earn, on average 95% of their male counterparts, while women over 30 earn 36% less than men.

The city admitted no fault in a 5-page settlement agreement. Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro’s office refused the charges against Farrell a little more than a month after his arrest. Gaubert, who maintained that the sexual encounter was consensual, then became the target of criminal allegations. The judge sentenced Gaubert to a suspended one-day jail term. No email documenting the alleged extor- tion attempt turned up at Gaubert’s trial, though she testified that a video was sent to her attorney and friend, Brigid Collins, with a clear message: Pay or else.
