International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, brainchild of Padma Bhushan Dr. , Chairman, a 681 bed multi specialty teaching hospital accredited by the most prestigious National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH), is the largest cardiac hospital in eastern . The Institute houses the largest Nephrology Unit in this part of the country. The hospital is noted for good academic and clinical infrastructure, bearing the credit of conducting various courses for the last fifteen years – PG Medical under the National Board of Examinations, New , Indian College of Anaesthesiologists, College of Critical Care Medicine-, Society for Emergency Medicine, India(SEMI), Degree & P G Diploma Courses under State Medical Faculty of West & Netaji Subhas Open University, and nursing courses under University of Health Sciences , West Bengal Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council.

The hospital houses one of the largest dialysis centres in eastern India running on a 24x7 basis. The Medical Laboratory of the Institute is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) and is equipped with state-of-the- infrastructural facilities. The Radiography unit of the hospital offers facilities of CT scan, MRIs, Ultrasonography and X-rays through state-of-the-art machinery. These facilities and the large number of Out Patients and In-patient cases handled on a daily basis offer very good practical as well as theoretical exposure to the students to most modern medical gadgetry and their handling, to enable them to understand the operations and to carry out the intricate techniques involved. FEES STRUCTURE: Total tuition Fees Rs. 15,000/- per year for two years course (total Rs. 30,000/-)

Caution Deposit Rs. 5,000/-(refundable upon completion of course and Internship) Registration Fees Rs. 500/- Examination Fees Rs. 400/-(to be paid each time before the Terminal Examinations) Uniform Fees Rs. 2000/-

HOSTEL FACILITIES are not provided to students of Paramedical Courses, but easy PG accommodation is available all around the hospital.

LIBRARY FACILITIES :

With more than 18 Medical Courses, 7 PG Nursing courses, 8 Paramedical Courses and 1 PG Management course already running full-fledged at the institute, AND 12 more Medical courses in the process of commencement, the institute’s state-of-the-art, fully equipped and updated has a large collection of latest medical books which can be easily approached and availed of by all students.

MODE OF PAYMENT OF FEES: AS PER RULES LAID DOWN BY STATE MEDICAL FACULTY OF WEST BENGAL Caution Deposit and Uniform Fees are to be paid at the beginning of 1st year of Course, at the time of admission.

For candidates paying only 1st year Course Fees i.e. Rs. 15,000/- at the time of admission, the remaining 50% of the total fees to be paid within nine (9) months from the date of their admission.

The above charges except the Caution Deposit are non-refundable in case of any discontinuity of Course by any candidate.

MEDICAL BENEFIT: All students are offered Medical Insurance coverage upto Rs. 1,00,000/-, during the course of their study.

REMUNERATION TO STUDENTS : Candidates are entitled to a remuneration of Rs. 1,000/- per month during the course of the study

INTERNSHIP PERIOD:

 Duration 6 months, commencing after the declaration of Final Examination Results on date specified by the SMFWB.  Candidates are entitled to remuneration of Rs. 2,000/- per month during Internship period.
