Father Malachi Martin's Visit to the Senate and Our Lady of Fatima
Dr. Robert Hickson 16 May 2016 Saint Brendan the Navigator (d.578) Saint Simon Stock (d. 1265) Saint John Nepomucene (d. 1393) Father Malachi Martin's Visit to the Senate and Our Lady of Fatima --Epigraphs-- On the Gift of Fear (Donum Timoris) as Part of the Order of Fear (Ordo Timoris): “One of the last verifiable [components] of the theses that define the image of man for our time holds that it is not seemly for man to be afraid. Waters from two sources are mingled in this attitude. One is an enlightened liberalism that relegates fearfulness to the realm of the unreal and in whose world view, accordingly, there is no room for fear except in a figurative sense. The other is an un-Christian stoicism that is secretly allied with both presumption and despair [i.e., the two forms of hopelessness, both of which are also grave sins against the Holy Ghost, in “the classical theology of the Church”] and [this stoicism] confronts in defiant invulnerability—without fear, but also without hope —the evils of existence, which it sees with admirable clarity. “The classical theology of the Church is especially removed from both the oversimplification of liberalism and the desperate rigidity of stoicism. It takes for granted that fears are a reality of human existence. And it takes equally for granted that man will respond to what is objectively fearful with fear [e.g., such as being permanently separated from the beloved, to include Our Beloved Lord and Vita Aeterna also with the Blessed Mother]....On the basis of this theology one must assume, then, that something is not quite in order [in the due and proportioned “ordo timoris”] when a man is afraid of nothing [“intimiditas”], and that the ideal of 'stoic' invulnerability and fearlessness is based on a false interpretation of man and reality itself. -

The extensive timelines have been broken into ten stages, drawing attention to a number of periods and reasons in the history of those eras for the unique experience of vernacular liturgy and the issues connected with it in the Western Catholic Church of our time. The role and function of International Committee of English in the Liturgy (ICEL) over its forty year existence still has a major impact on the way we worship in English. This article deals with the restructuring of ICEL which had been the centre of much controversy in recent years and now operates under different protocols. -

Endnotes Foreword For as long as I can remember, the Mass has been the focus of my life. No need to specify which Mass: there was only one, the Mass that has been handed down through the centuries, by faithful Bishops to their successors, the priests whom they themselves ordained to say it. When I was about 12 years old, I remember walking, with my younger sister and her friend, along a railroad track into the next town to attend Mass on the first Friday of the month. My parents had sent me to supervise the group at a summer camp, and there was no Church in the area. So three of us set out early in the morning on a beautiful summer day to go to Mass and receive Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The area was new to us, we probably did not walk fast enough - for whatever reason - Mass was just finishing as we arrived. -

The Holy See, Social Justice, and International Trade Law: Assessing the Social Mission of the Catholic Church in the Gatt-Wto System

Alphonsus Ihuoma ________________________________ Professor Raj Bhala (Chairperson) Date approved: May 15, 2014 ii ABSTRACT Man, as a person, is superior to the state, and consequently the good of the person transcends the good of the state. The philosopher Jacques Maritain developed his political philosophy thoroughly informed by his deep Catholic faith. His philosophy places the human person at the center of every action. In developing his political thought, he enumerates two principal tasks of the state as (1) to establish and preserve order, and as such, guarantee justice, and (2) to promote the common good. The state has such duties to the people because it receives its authority from the people. The people possess natural, God-given right of self-government, the exercise of which they voluntarily invest in the state. -

The Keys of This Blood
The Keys of This Blood We recommend to our readers that they review what we published in Chancellor’s Update September 2007: our letter of December 28, 1978 to the Holy Father giving him some of our observations on the results of the Second Vatican Council, our pleasant reaction to the Holy Father’s Holy Thursday Dominicae Cenae letter of February 24, 1980 to the Universal Church, and our gratitude to Pope Benedict XVI for issuing his famous Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum fulfilling the desires of Pope John Paul II. In the October 2006 issue of the Chancellor’s Update, we published the following: “Vatican II, being a pastoral council not an infallible council, was a psychological and sociological attempt to go forth and teach all nations. Like other nations that have five or ten year plans, the Vatican has the reigns of the pontiffs to choreograph the plans of the Papacy. Admittedly, many of the Vatican II plans were hijacked or were very poorly implemented around the world, particularly in America. Not withstanding what I just wrote, the Papacy can never die due to Christ’s promise and therefore outlives all its adversaries. As a consequence of having Christ at its head, and the Paraclete as its guide, the Papacy continues its machinations until it gets it right. Consequently, many clerics and Catholic faithful have been confused or misled over the past forty years.” We hope to demonstrate to our traditional friends and readers that the Vatican CHOREOGRAPHS ITS PLANS AND MACHINATIONS OVER LONG PERIODS OF TIME. So, please give the popes the benefit of the doubts you may have, because it is their job to go out and bring back the “lost sheep.” In his book, The Keys of this Blood, copyright 1990, the late Jesuit Malachi Martin wrote on Page 693: “You will discover, in time, that there is a series of particular papal decrees. -
„Principele Scortesco”. Cine Era? (Cu O Incursiune În Peisajul Catolic Tradiţionalist Din Apus)
1 Un român exilat misterios: „Principele Scortesco”. Cine era? (cu o incursiune în peisajul catolic tradiţionalist din Apus) P. dr. Remus Mircea Birtz, OBSS Summary This study presents some data about the Romanian Traditional Catholic writers, the painter Paul Scorţescu / Scortesco / Scortzesco (1893, Yassy – 1976, Paris), his brother the diplomatic minister Theodor Scorţescu / Scortzesco (1895, Yassy – 1979, Buenos-Aires), known in the Romanian literature, and Miss Myra Davidoglou (1923, Bucharest – 2001, France) a graphic artist too. Some historical and genealogical data about the Scortzesco Moldavian-Romanian noble family are given, and a short landscape of the Traditional Catholic Resistance. It is proven that the well-known statement of Paul Scortzesco about the 1963 Conclave cannot be true, however without denying the election of Cardinal Giuseppe Siri as Pope (Gregory XVII) in the 1958 Conclave. Some biographical data about the Scortzescos can and must be certainly corrected, when new informations from the yet unknown Romanian Exile Culture will be available. Key words: Paul Scorţescu / Scortesco / Scortzesco (1893-1976), Theodor Scorţescu / Scortzesco (1895-1979), Myra Davidoglou (1923-2001), Cardinal Giuseppe Siri (Gregory XVII), Roman Catholic Resistance, Sedevacantism, Romanian Exile. N.B. -
