The county is located in the southwestern portion of the state and has a population of approximately 36,000, with the county seat located in Franklin. The county is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners elected on staggered terms, and operates under the council-manager form of government, with an annual budget of approximately $52-million for Fiscal Year 2020-21. Assistant County Manager, Franklin County: Serves as County Manager in the absence of the Manager; attends all meetings of the Commissioners to report on policy, budgetary, purchasing, staffing and service delivery, and follows up on issues raised at the meeting. Serves as liaison for interdepartmental contacts; assists department heads and supervisors in resolving personnel problems and citizen requests or complaints. Serves as project manager for multi-department projects; coordinates the development of projects, reports, studies, grant proposals, and ordinances as requested by the Manager; negotiates contracts and agreements. Assists the County Manager with the planning and development of programs to achieve the goals and objectives defined by elected officials; coordinates, directs, and supervises staff in completing Board directives. Town Administrator, Town of Green Level (Attached): The town of green level is seeking a full time town administrator to manage day-to-day operations of the town. The successful applicant will be energetic, creative and innovative. Must be able to multi-task, manage successfully many projects simultaneously, and be experienced in managing a diverse workforce. Additional requirements include: demonstrated success in leadership, knowledge of hr & labor laws, and experience in government relations. Experience working successfully with elected volunteer leadership is necessary. PIO/Media Director, Town of Emerald Isle: The town of emerald isle, one of North Carolina’s top rated beach communities, needs your expertise and energy to enhance its internal/external communication efforts. Using a wide range of media, the public information and media director will share the story of emerald isle. He/she will serve as spokesperson for the town when designated, respond to the media, citizens, and customer inquiries. He/she will maintain the content of all official communication platforms including web, twitter, Facebook, the ei app, constant contact email and text lists. Special events: he/she will help promote major annual/specials events such as the St. Patrick’s day festival, beach music festival, ei marathon and ei fishing tournament. The ideal candidate will hold a degree(s) in media, communications, journalism and/or similar disciplines. Strong writing skills on various platforms is a must. Town Manager, Town of Clayton: Town of Clayton (pop. approx.. 25,000) seeks well qualified candidates for Town Manager position. Fast-growing community located in northwest Johnston County, near Raleigh. Town Manager is appointed by and works under the direction of the Mayor and five-member elected Town Council. General Fund budget $32 million, Water & Sewer Fund $26.3 million, Electric Fund $15.8 million; supervises two Deputy Town Managers and 14 department directors; 222 full-time employees. Sound finances. County Manager, Gates County: We are seeking an individual who can follow and maintain the guidelines set forth in North Carolina General Statute 153A-82. The position requires thorough knowledge of local government management and administration, economic development, budgets and grant writing as well a strong financial aptitude. The preferred candidate will have experience as county or municipal manager, assistant manager, planner, tax administrator or finance officer. A preferred candidate may also have an economic development or tourism background. Human Services Deputy Director, Wilson County: Provides executive leadership to staff and oversight of programs within Wilson County Department of Social Services (WCDSS). Provides direct supervision to agency leadership within the Economic Assistance Section (Medicaid, SNAP, LIEAP, MA Transportation and Crisis intervention Programs) and the Child Support Section. Provides indirect oversight to all other agency programs including but not limited to child welfare and adult services supervision and of all other agency leadership in the absence of the agency Director.
