KEY TEES CCPP DOCUMENTS IN PUBLIC DOMAIN

The Tees Combined Cycle Power Plant (Tees CCPP) website has gone live (www.tccpp.co.uk) providing the public with important information about a gas-fired power station of up to 1,700 megawatts that Sembcorp is considering developing at the Wilton International site.

Other key documents that form part of the planning process were also posted in libraries closest to the site and in the main libraries of local authorities with a boundary to and Cleveland.

The documents include the Statement of Community Consultation (SoCC) and two volumes of the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR). Posters highlighting the three public exhibitions Sembcorp will be holding at , Whale Hill and Dormanstown in July were also prominently displayed in the same locations.

Sembcorp is continuing to assess the financial and technical viability of Tees CCPP and no firm decision has been made on whether it will go ahead.

However, as a nationally significant infrastructure project, the development would be entirely dependent on first acquiring development consent at a national level in a process taking 12-18 months. Therefore preliminary planning work – including consultation with key stakeholders – is taking place in parallel with the feasibility study.
