Starterkit MB91100 The Fujitsu RISC (FR) architecture is a new generation 32 bit MB91360 Series core which is dedicated to resolving the twin demands of high performance Starterkit MB91360 coupled with low cost, which are needed by today’s high-end automotive, consumer and telecoms applications. FR Series Software Support Designed from the outset to be optimised for embedded applications, the FR Series In-Circuit Emulator CPU has a 16 bit instruction Op Code, enabling maximum performance from low REALOS, OSEK/VDX & EMBOS cost, half word external memory and instruction widths, or else allowing FR-V Series double instruction fetches for each cycle. The CPU employs the same five-stage pipeline and 32 x 32 Multiplier as the successful SPARClite family but Introduction to Graphic Display adds a new and a bit search unit which finds the first 1, 0 or Controllers change in a data word in a single cycle. The concept of the instruction cache MB86290A ‘Cremson’ architecture with its flexible locking mechanism is also replicated. The MB91101, MB91106, MB91F109, MB91110* and MB91111* devices offer for the most part the same peripherals but with MB91360 Series complementary memory options. Starterkit MB91360 Several devices have their performance enhanced by the inclusion of 1kB of FR Series Software Support 2 way set associative instruction cache, with locking function. The FR Series In-Circuit Emulator on the MB91F109 is sectored, single voltage programming, and guarantees 10,000 erase cycles and 10 year data retention. Contents Introduction to FR Series – 32 bit MB87P2020 ‘JASMINE’ RISC Architecture MB911xx Series MB87P2020 ‘Jasmine’ is an enhanced version of MB87J2120 ‘Lavender’ which Starterkit MB91100 adds 8Mbit embedded SDRAM, and some more improved features. The device is fully compatible to the Lavender chip and uses the same internal architecture, the MB91360 Series same layer and interface concept. No external memory devices are required for Starterkit MB91360 graphic memory because of the 8Mbit embedded SDRAM. As a consequence, the FR Series Software Support package could be reduced to QFP208. Therefore, Jasmine is optimised for FR Series In-Circuit Emulator compact automotive or consumer applications where a high integration of functions is required. Like Lavender, the Jasmine is optimised to work as a REALOS, OSEK/VDX & EMBOS companion chip for the Fujitsu 32 bit RISC devices MB91F36x. FR-V Series As a successive product to Lavender, the new device has a number of Introduction to Graphic Display enhancements which allows there to be more flexibility in the application area. Controllers First of all, a new video input interface was developed which allows acceptance of MB86290A ‘Cremson’ more formats (including YUV) and which is compatible to a wider range of video MB86291 ‘Scarlet’ decoder chips. A new programmable convertor matrix (YUV to RGB) allows MB86292 ‘Orchid’ writing of these YUV formats to layers and to convert back to RGB for scanning. In addition, a gamma correction table was added to allow adjustment of the MB87J2120 ‘Lavender’ picture characteristics according to the connected display requirements and the MB87P2020 ‘Jasmine’ colour look-up table that can now hold up to 512 entries. A PCI adaptor card with a ‘Cremson’ MB86290A, a ‘Scarlet’ MB86291A or an FR Series Software Support ‘Orchid’ MB86292 is available which allows the evaluation of the features of the FR Series In-Circuit Emulator device directly from a Windows PC. For this, a Windows NT/Windows 2000 REALOS, OSEK/VDX & EMBOS driver and a map driver are bundled with this adaptor card in order to get started, enabling easy programming of the Cremson from a Windows NT based FR-V Series development environment. Also, the source code of various application examples Introduction to Graphic Display is included.
