Let the Show Begin!!

New Voices New Rooms, the 2020 virtual conference hosted by NAIBA with SIBA is ready for you.

One of the things I like about this format: author events are up-close and kind of personal. You are right there with the authors, not craning your neck six tables away. Even if you were lucky enough to be invited to sit with the author (and how many of us were that lucky!) the person on either side of the author had all their attention. With our virtual conference, you can ask questions and be part of the conversation. Experience the best personal- but-not-face-to-face event this Fall.

Booksellers: Register every single bookseller on your staff so they can attend any event during this five-day author, education and tradeshow extravaganza. There are no barriers this year!! Publishers: Join the fun with our virtual exhibit hall and author and rep opportunities.

Sharing about the conference on social media? Use #newvoicesnewrooms2020.

Extend Deadlines for DRC

While booksellers are adapting to more digital review copies, what they aren't happy about are the disappearing acts for DRC.

PUBLISHERS - please extend or eliminate the deadlines for availability of these digital review copies beyond the on-sale date. Booksellers need more time.

Brown Paper Tickets ABA is looking into the concerns of members who are owed money by Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) and have been unable to reach the company. Unfortunately these complaints are not unique. Stores currently using BPT should take note. Stores owed money should contact their state attorney general and let ABA membership know, as they are working on other potential resources for members.

NAIBAhood Review

Four years in the making, Brandon Stanton's HUMANS arrives when we need it most. Among quarantines and travel restrictions, Stanton's collection of more than 400 images and stories provides connection and opportunity to empathize with. the joys and sorrows of ordinary people from around the globe. As in his Humans of New York and his online posts, Stanton's photos tell stories themselves, and the accompanying essays each offer a deeper layer to give life to his subjects. This is truly a book to savor, a page at a time. Humans by Brandon Stanton (St. Martin's Reviewed by: Cheryl McKeon of Market Block Books Press/Macmillan) 9781250114297
