    Kunst Kultur Bericht Kunst- und Kulturbericht 2020 Kunst- und Kulturbericht 2020 Wien 2021 Liebe Leserinnen und Leser, als wir im Juli des vergangenen Jahres den Kunst- und Kulturbericht 2019 veröffent- lichten, hatten wir gehofft, dass die optimistischen Prognosen über den Verlauf und die Eindämmung der Pandemie eintreten werden und wir Anfang des Jahres 2021 unser gesellschaftliches und kulturelles Leben langsam wieder aufnehmen können. Es kam anders. Das Virus und seine Mutanten haben es nicht erlaubt, dass wir uns ohne er- hebliche Gefahr für unsere Gesundheit in größeren Gruppen treffen oder als Publikum versammeln. Diese unsichtbaren Gegner haben es unmöglich gemacht, in Theatern, Kinos, Konzerthäusern, Galerien und Museen zusammenzukommen, um das zu tun, was wir alle lieben: gemeinsam Kunst zu erleben und zu genießen. Unser wichtigstes Ziel war es daher, alles zu unternehmen, damit wir am Ende der Pan- demie dort fortsetzen können, wo wir plötzlich und unerwartet aus unserem kulturellen Leben gerissen wurden: All jene, die in unserem Land Kunst machen, die sich dazu entschlossen haben, ihr Leben und ihre ganze Kraft dem künstlerischen Schaffen zu widmen, sollten bestmöglich durch diese schwierigen Zeiten kommen. All das, was in den vergangenen Jahren und Jahrzehnten an kultureller Infrastruktur entwickelt, aufgebaut und eingerichtet worden ist, sollte diese schwierigen Monate unbeschadet überstehen. Rasch, effizient und gezielt zu unterstützen, das war unsere politische Leitlinie, nach der wir die gesetzlichen Voraussetzungen geschaffen und die administrativen Prozesse aufgesetzt haben – und wir sind stolz darauf, dass uns vieles gelungen ist. So flossen im Jahr 2020 aus dem Covid-19-Krisenbewältigungsfonds der Bundesregierung zusätzliche Budgetmittel in dreistelliger Millionenhöhe direkt an Künstlerinnen und Künstler, an die Bundesmuseen, die Nationalbibliothek und den Bundestheater-Konzern sowie an Non-Profit-Organisationen im Bereich Kunst, Kultur und Denkmalpflege.

    Annual Report 2016 Preserving the Valuable Creating the New Palace Christalnigg Is a Special Jewel of Baroque Art

    ANNUAL REPORT 2016 Preserving the Valuable Creating the New Palace Christalnigg is a special jewel of Baroque art. For a long time, it was the meeting place and hub of public life in Klagenfurt and has been the property of BKS Bank for the past 70 years. From 2014 to 2016 it was restored with great care. The stucco ceiling covers an area of around 600 square metres. Estimates places its erection at some time from 1730 to 1740. It is said to have been created by the then very famous stucco plasterer Kilian Pittner and his son Marx Josef who also designed the stucco for the Porcia Castle and the Klagenfurt Cathedral. The restoration of the stucco ceiling was done applying very fine artwork in traditional techniques and in close cooperation with the Federal Monuments Office. The collection comprises type material representing 39 (sub)species and 3 varieties belonging to four families: Callipodidae (4), Schizopetalidae (33), Dorypetalidae (2) and Caspiopetalidae (3). The types were established by Karl W. Verhoeff (18), Carl Attems (17), Robert Latzel (5) and one each by Ludwig Koch and Sergei Golovatch, and they originate from the following countries of Europe and Asia (listed in alphabetical order): Albania (3), Bosnia and Herzegovina (5), Croatia (7), Greece (7), Italy (7), India (1), Iran (2), Portugal (1), Romania (1), Serbia (2), Syria (1) and Turkey (7).

Altogether, 110 types belonging to the fami­ lies Henicopidae and Lithobiidae are registered - 80 species, 17 subspecies and 13 variations.

Zuber Italy's involvement in Austrian political and dip¬ lomatic affairs during the interwar period generally has been studied in light of her acquiesence in the Austro-German Anschluss of March 15* 1938. Mussolini's acceptance of the union of these two German states is frequently interpreted as yet another manifestation of the growing cooperation between Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany which, beginning with their collaboration during the Spanish Civil War, eventually led to the events of Munich and the Second World War. While not without a degree of validity, this approach to Italy's involvement in the Anschluss tends to ignore the basic differences in policy and interests that existed between these two states. The resulting image, therefore, overemphasizes the closeness of the affinity between Rome and Berlin. ' This study seeks to present a balanced view of Italy's involvement in the Anschluss by tracing the rather complex course of Italian foreign policy in Austria during the period from 1928 to 1938. The examination of Austro-Italian relations is divided into three phases. The first, extending from the initial Italian contacts with various rightist groups in Austria in 1928 to the assassination of the Austrian chancellor, Engelbert Dollfuss, in July, 1931+j marked the development of an Italian "protectorate" over Austria and the expansive phase of Italy*s quest for hegemony in Central Europe.
