Sat: 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. I Nicole Gulachek - Brandon Underwood ST. CHARLES BORROMEO CATHOLIC CHURCH - FORT WAYNE, INDIANA Our First Communion Mass last weekend was a beautiful event. The weather was perfect, the church was filled, and the children were as reverent as can be. I am grateful to our teachers and staff members who did so much to organize, our musicians and servers and other ministers. I am especially grateful for the parents of these children. We have very committed and faith -filled families here. That is reason for thanks.

Two new deacons will be ordained at the Fort Wayne Cathedral on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Stephen Felicichia and Dan Koehl will become the newest deacons in our diocese, and with God’s blessings, be ordained priests next year. Everyone is invited to this beautiful liturgy. (I don’t think that either of these two young men has spent time at St. Charles, but Stephen’s sister, Barb Brooks, belongs here.)

I see a note from our parish secretary that we registered 18 new families at St. Charles in April. We would love to see that every month! Welcome to our new parishioners.

Parishioners are invited each year to contribute to our Easter Flower collection in memory of loved ones. We typically print the names of those loved ones in the bulletin each year. The list has grown. Unless we use tiny print, it would take multiple pages in the bulletin. I will put a few copies in the back of church and also print the list in our parish website, stcharlesfw.org. From the menu, click Pastor’s column, and then choose May 12 . We are grateful for the donations. Our beautiful Easter flowers are a symbol of resurrection and remind us to pray for our loved ones during the season.

MAY 12 WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS The purpose of the World Day of Prayer for Vocations is to Fourth Sunday Of Easter publicly fulfill the Lord's instruction to "Pray the Lord of the Protected by Christ harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).
