The Parry-Lord oral formulaic theory, together with other important contributions in the field of oral studies, is a starting point for this analysis, which also takes into consideration the socio-cultural con- text in which these translations were produced. Translation solutions are therefore brought into relation with the poetics of individual translators and especially with the socio-cultural context of their time. Particular attention is devoted to the centuries- old Italian rhetorical tradition, which influenced even the greatest experts in popular poetry in their interpretation of the figures and clichés typical of oral production. Keywords: Kosovka djevojka, translation, formulaic diction, Tommaseo, Nikolić, Cronia n the study presented here, we will try to find correlations between three different Italian translations of the Serbian epic poem Kosovka djevojka (VukI II, 51) and the socio-cultural context in which they appeared by devot- ing particular attention to the way in which the original epic formulas were conveyed.

  • Kratka Povjesnica Srba Od Postanja Srpstva Do Danas
Kratka povjesnica Srba od postanja srpstva do danas Napisao Sima Lukin Lazić (Vrač Pogađač) Izdanje piščevo ZAGREB ŠTAMPARIJA KARLA ALBREHTA 1894 Riječ dvije.

Aside from adapting nov- els (for example, of Slobodan Selenić, Milorad Pavić, Al- eksandar Tišma, etc.) or Greek tragedies, poems, myths, DRAMATISATIONS there are adaptations of epic folk poetry specific to Ser- bia and the Balkans. Simović’s Hasanaginica or Banović Strahinja adapted by Borislav Mihailović-Mihiz based on the motifs of these two poems, are performed with great frequency. A great example of adapting poetry for stage Translated by > Stefan Alidini is Jernej Lorenci’s Kingdom of Heaven. He and his team staged poems from the pre-Kosovo and Kosovo cycles at BITEF and the National theatre. These are only some of the numerous examples where great works of literature – regardless of whether they were written as plays, for they can also be a part of the adaptation process – novels or folk poetry, were trans- formed into a new version and a first-rate dramatic text. One of many things to note is that working based on existing literature (mainly prose) falls into a separate category of dramatic works that are considered “origi- nal” creations.

  • Modfilms Internationa!
INFORMATION TO USERS This reproduction was made from a copy of a document sent to us for microfilming. While the most advanced technology has been used to photograph and reproduce this document, the quality of the reproduction is heavily dependent upon the quality of the material submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help clarify markings or notations which may appear on this reproduction. 1.The sign or “target” for pages apparently lacking from the document photographed is “Missing Page(s)”. If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting through an image and duplicating adjacent pages to assure complete continuity. 2. When an image on the film is obliterated with a round black mark, it is an indication of either blurred copy because of movement during exposure, duplicate copy, or copyrighted materials that should not have been filmed. For blurred pages, a good image of the page can be found in the adjacent frame. If copyrighted materials were deleted, a target note will appear listing the pages in the adjacent frame. 3. When a map, drawing or chart, etc., is part of the material being photographed, a definite method of “sectioning” the material has been followed. It is customary to begin filming at the upper left hand comer of a large sheet and to continue from left to right in equal sections with small overlaps. If necessary, sectioning is continued again—beginning below the first row and continuing on until complete.

◙ • Riječ dvije • Doba predistorijsko • Doba odrođavanja • Doba županisko • Doba državnog sazrevanja • Zlatno doba srpsko • Doba rasula državnog • Doba stradanja i čeličenja • Doba svanuća i slobode Riječ dvije.

HISTORICAL MEMORIES OF KOSOVO SERBS IN D THE POST-WAR PERIOD AND CONFLICTING SERBIAN NATIONAL NARRATIVES ABOUT KOSOVO D LEONAS TOlvAIŠIS ISSN 1392-0588 2013. 60 SUMMARY. The paper is aimed at complementing the research of historical memories and national narratives in Central and Eastern Europe by analysing the Serbian case in relation to the issue of Kosovo. Focusing on the historical memories of the Kosovo Serbs in the post-war years, the paper aims to find out the prevalent forms of memorialisation, identifying the events chosen by the Kosovo Serbs to remember and the mechanisms employed to shape, maintain and transmit memories. Drawing on ethnographic observations made during five years of field research all over Kosovo, national collective memory of the Kosovo Serbs is traced through the dominant historical images, publically displayed symbols and commemorative discourses related to the collective experiences of the post-war period. The second part of the paper analy- ses the competing Kosovo-related narratives in Serbia, identifying the main messages shaped by the narratives with regard to the relationships between the citizen, the nation and the state, the dichotomy between ethnocultural solidarity and the concept of civic nation, as well as the relationship between the citizen and the narrative itself. KEYWORDS: historical memory, national narratives, national collective memory, the Kosovo Serbs, post-war Kosovo, Serbia. 1. INTRODUCTION Although comparable to other historical ethnoterritorial conflicts across Central and Eastern Europe, Kosovo stands out against the regional background due to its cur- rent irresolution, or the lack of political agreement on its status. During the first decade of the 21st century, Kosovo proved to be the most dangerous spot in Europe in terms of ethnic confrontation.
