Travel guide

Trento is not served by an airport and is a 1h30’ from Verona, the nearest airport and 3h30’ from the other main airports. It is therefore recommended that you get a flight the day before your interview to get to the museum in time. There are many accommodation available, just check one of the many accommodation search engines on line.

To get to Trento by car you need to get on the A22 Brenner Motorway and exit either at Trento nord (if you come from the Brenner Pass, Austria) or Trento sud (if you come from Verona and the A4 Milan-Venice motorway). Please note that the old motorway exit Trento centro has now been closed and is only available to get into the motorway but not to exit. Free Brenner pass Austria parking is available at the old Trento centro motorway A22 Motorway junction. A shuttle bus coded NP connects this parking lot with the city centre and cost € 1,10. In Trento only Hotel Albermonaco has parking facilities.

If you are travelling by plane your choice airport is VERONA (IATA code VRN). Unfortunately Verona is a minor airport with few direct flights only to London, Paris and Rome. Most flights into Verona will be connecting flights, which tend to be more expensive or not available at all. If you are not able to find a reasonably priced flight into Verona, we recommend Venice (both VCE and TSF); other options might Bologna (BLQ) or Milan (BGY, LIN, MPX). The approx. distance and transfer time to are the following ones:

From / To Trento Verona VRN 130 km 1h 30’ Venice VCE or Venice Treviso TSF 230 km 3h Bologna BLQ 250 km 3h Milan Bergamo BGY, Linate LIN, Malpensa MXP T1 or T2 280 km 3h 30’ All transfer times are average times based on public transport assuming all necessary connections are met and trains and coaches run on time. If you are travelling by Train get off at Trento railway station. Two companies operate on Italian Railways: Trenitalia and Deutsche Bahn. You can check train times below and on-line @ www.trenitalia.it and @ www.dbitalia.it. Please remember to specify the date of your travel when checking train times as on Sunday both Trenitalia and DB operate a reduced service.
