SPECIAL ISSUE 623 Kenya Gazette Supplement No SPECIAL ISSUE 623 Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 70 29September, 2006 (Legistlative Supplement No. 38) LEGAL NOTICE No. 122 THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT (Cap. 265) IN EXERCISE of powers conferred by Section 42 (A) of the Constitution of Kenya and Section 10 of the Local Government Act and upon carrying out public inquiry and consideration of facts, information and opinion from Kenyans throughout the Republic the Electoral Commission makes the following order:— THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (ELECTORAL AREAS) ORDER, 2006 1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Electoral Areas) Order, 2006. 2. The Local Authorities specified in the first column of the First Schedule hereto shall be divided into the electoral areas whose names and descriptions appear respectively in the second and third columns of the schedule. 3. The boundaries of each electoral area will be delimeated in a map which shall be signed and deposited at the offices of the Electoral Commission of Kenya, Nairobi and a copy of which may be inspected at the offices of the respective District Elections Co- ordinator of each administrative district. 4. The Local Government Orders specified in the Second Schedule to this Order shall be revoked upon the dissolution of local authorities for purposes of the next general elections whereupon this Order shall come into effect. The Government developed and adopted Vision 2030 which identifies infrastructure as a key enabler for achievement of its objective of making Kenya a middle income country by 2030.
