Beginning Knits Supply List

Matching thread 1 yard of ¼” elastic Fabric choices: Medium weight stretch knit fabric. Cotton interlock, french terry, or knit pique (think polo shirt fabric) are all easy-to-handle, and some ITY knits are OK as long as they are not too slippery. Thin “slippery” knits are very tough for beginning sewists and should be avoided (lightweight /lycra or cotton/lycra fabrics that have lots of “rolling” at cut edges will be tough. AVOID!!)
