A FULLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF ISRAM WORLD OF TRAVEL U.S.A DEEPER LOOK INTO THE LAND OF THE BIBLE: 1 January- 12 January 2019 Led by Dr Paul ShoCkley and Pastor Dwain Camp DAY 1 January 1 TUESDAY: DEPARTURE: Our spiritual adventure begins when we depart from the US for our long-awaited destination on Turkish Airlines #34 from Houston to Istanbul at 8:55 p.m. arriving at 5:35 p.m. Then, continue on Turkish #864 at 8:35 p.m. landing in Tel Aviv at 9:45 p.m. DAY 2 January 2: WEDNESDAY: ARRIVAL: ARRIVAL: Evening arrival into Tel Aviv. We will be met and assisted through customs and introduced to our guide and driver. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Tel Aviv DAY 3 January 3: THURSDAY: JAFFA, CAESAREA, MT. CARMEL & AKKO JAFFA: The City of Jonah and Simon the Tanner; see its ancient port and the artists’ colony around it. CAESAREA: We will explore the amazing excavations that include the Roman Theater, harbor, hippodrome, and palace-all built by Herod the Great in the days of Jesus. We will also walk through the crusader fortress. MOUNT CARMEL: View the western end of the Jezreel Valley from atop Mount Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. AKKO: We will drive through Akko and briefly take some pics of this coastal crusader city which served as one of Israel’s key ports over much of its long history. Overnight: Rimonim Hotel Palm Beach (B/D) DAY 4 January 4 FRIDAY: ROSH HANIKRA, HAZOR, DAN & CAESAREA PHILIPPI CAVES OF ROSH HANIKRA: These magnificent caves are found in the northern tip of Israel. HAZOR: We leave Akko and travel to this strategic ancient site located on the International Highway between Egypt and Mesopotamia, where the decisive battle for the conquest by Joshua was won. DAN NATURE RESERVE: Dan, is a city mentioned in Bible, is described as the northernmost city of the Kingdom of Israel, and belonging to the tribe of Dan. The panoramic viewing from here will take your breath away. GAMLA NATURE RESERVE: Known sometimes as the “Masada of the North, Gamla is most famous for its strong defense against the Romans in the Jewish revolt in AD 66. SEA OF GALILEE: We end the day by visiting the ancient Galilee boat and board an ancient-style boat for worship on the Sea of Galilee. Overnight: Rimonim Galei Kinneret (B/D) DAY 6 January 6: SUNDAY: JESUS’ GALILEAN MINISTRY MAGDALA: See the oldest excavated in Galilee and one of seven from the first century in all of Israel. MT. ARBEL: A breathtaking panorama of the Sea of Galilee and the biblical sites of Jesus’ public ministry. Take time to worship God from this site on Sunday morning. MT. OF BEATITUDES Where Christ delivered the Sermon on the Mount CAPERNAUM: This city witnessed many of Jesus’ miracles PRIMACY OF PETER: We will take some time to consider Jesus’ restoration of the Apostle Peter on the edge of the Sea of Galilee. GOLAN HEIGHTS WINERY: We will end our day with a special tour to this wonderful winery just north of the Sea of Galilee. Overnight Rimonim Galei Kinneret (B/D) DAY 7 January 7: MONDAY: SOUTH OF SEA OF GALILEE & THE DEAD SEA EXPERIENCE JERICHO: We will Galilee and travel down the Transjordan Valley. We will pass by the city where the walls came tumbling down. QUMRAN: The Dead Sea scrolls were discovered here. EN GEDI: One of the places where David encountered Saul. MASADA: We will ride a cable car up to Herod’s lavish palace/fortress where Jewish zealots made their final stand in their revolt against Rome. BEERSHEBA: If time and strength allows, we will travel to southernmost city of Israel in the Hebrew Bible; the place where Abraham built an altar to the Lord. BET GUVRIN: We will explore the unique Bell Caves carved beneath the earth BETH SHEMESH: This is where Samson lived and the Philistines returned the Ark of the Covenant to Israel ELAH VALLEY: Here we will re-live David and Goliath’s battle. JERUSALEM We will journey up to this magnificent city Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (B/D) DAY 9 January 9: WEDNESDAY: TEMPLE MOUNT AND CITY OF DAVID TEMPLE MOUNT: View the ancient site of the Temple, now holding the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque SOUTHERN TEMPLE STEPS: A place where you can actually say, “I walked where Jesus walked.” Here we will take time to worship corporately. CITY OF DAVID: Starting from King David’s palace, we will see Warren’s Shaft, the waterspout through which David’s forces climbed to capture the city, and the Pool of Siloam where the blind man, after encountering Jesus, washed the mud off his eyes and received his site. Those interested can also walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. WESTERN WALL TUNNEL: TBA HEZEKIAH’S WALL Wall & THE CARDO: We will wind through the narrow streets and colorful bazaars of the Old City, stopping along the way to discover history that proves our faith. JEWISH QUARTER: Take time to explore and shop the Jewish Quarter UPPER ROOM: The traditional site of the Last Supper CAIAPHAS’ HOUSE: Reflect upon the trials of Jesus Christ. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (B/D) DAY 10 January 10: THURSDAY OLD JERUSALEM MT OF OLIVES: At this panoramic vista, we are reminded of what Christ saw as He looked over the city. DOMINUS FLEVIT: We will walk down Palm Sunday Road and stop at the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE: Here, amongst the ancient olive trees, is where Jesus was betrayed. We will take time to pray at this sacred area. POOL OF BETHSEDA: The pool where Jesus healed a man ST. ANNE’S CHURCH: Sing in this beautiful crusader church. GARDEN TOMB: We will walk into an ancient tomb similar to the one in which Christ was buried and then have communion service celebrating the resurrection of our Savior… “He is not here! He has risen!” Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (B/D) DAY 11 JANUARY 11 Friday: JERUSALEM: YESTERDAY & TODAY YAD VASHEM: We will visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial. FREE TIME: Spend time exploring the Old City on your own. Dinner in restaurant in Old City Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (B/D) DAY 12 JANUARY 12 Saturday: BACK TO US Early morning departure for airport for flights back to US.
