NLN EDUCATION SUMMIT 2019 2 THE NLN NORTH STAR: PURPOSE, POWER, & PASSION
G. Rumay Alexander Beverly L. Malone EdD, RN, FAAN PhD, RN, FAAN President Chief Executive Officer
Dear Colleagues, The National League for Nursing is a mission-driven professional association, founded on the core values of Caring, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence. For the NLN Board of Governors and staff, these are more than mere words. They serve as a call to action every day and represent a vivid reflection of the 2019 Summit theme: the NLN’s North Star: Purpose, Power, & Passion! Coming together for these three action-packed days each fall reminds us how we celebrate that theme throughout the year. You, dear colleagues and members, are the League’s North Star. Our shared Purpose—to prepare an outstanding nursing workforce to advance the health of the nation and the global community—is guided by our shared Passion—excellence in nursing education. Both of which coalesce in our collective Power. A quick glance through the pages of this NLN Salute to Members best tells the story of how many hundreds of you, leaders and scholars, faculty and students, and friends of nursing education, are engaged in our vital enterprise. Through committees, task forces, boards, and so many of our programs and initiatives, you embody the spirit and energy of the NLN. We are humbled and honored to be on this journey with you. And we take this opportunity to express sincere thanks for all you do to help the NLN meet your needs and support you in achieving your goals in classroom, clinic, lab—wherever your professional pursuits may lead. Finally, we remind you to take full advantage of all the benefits that come with your NLN membership. The NLN is never more than a click or a phone call away! Thank you for your membership and continued support of the NLN.

NLN EDUCATION SUMMIT 2019 29 WHAT if we worked together to foster lifelong learning?
We are dedicated to supporting nurses throughout their journey, whether that’s educating the next generation of nurses with our three-year BSN program or helping working RNs attain their BSN online. As we advance our education as nurses, we advance our impact. Which is why we also offer advanced degree programs including a Master of Science in Nursing as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice. So, no matter where you are in your journey, Chamberlain can help you get to where you want to be.
