A fortuitous event occurredtoward the end of the Committee's work which had a significanteffect on both the scope and quality of thisbooklistnamely, the ar- rival at NCTE of anunsolicited manuscript containing hundreds of excellent annotationsprepared by Claire Rosser, a librarian from WellesleyHills, Massachusetts. Since her listing includedbooks which had not been reviewed as yet, we asked for,and received, permission to include her annotationsof those books.
