A pictures that we experience every day speak about the material, semantic and social relations. These pictures combine a many communicative elements - signs that communicate and inform. I tried to find an explicit example, where the clothing deliberately communicates through its elements. And that’s uniforms.

Uniform is a rich and complicated issue, which offers many interesting topics to think about. I focused on historical contexts of clothing and uniforms, and how they act on people and what their elements are and how the fashion communicate through them. Based on these findings I developed my own reinterpreta- tion of this subject and created collection The Cut outs. The Cu t ou s The Cu t ou s

Looking at uniform in relation with the badges, ranks and honors is major concept of the collection. The perception of badges and ranks as a “sign system” that gives informations about the wearer and is a decoration in the same time is very important part of whole development. The “ sign system” adopts spiritual, aesthetic and technological responsibility of the entire project.
